Extended Stay

Just back from what was to be a 7 night stay here, but we were able to extend our stay by a couple of days. John and Beryl are very accommodating and friendly. Slight slope on field but nothing to be concerned about, could have put our caravan either way and been able to put awning up no trouble. Dog walk on site is great, 2 fields where they can run off lead! We didn't spend too much time at the van, as the position of the site being central between both north and south coasts, made it an ideal base for exploring/walking either coast. It was so good for us, that we have booked to go back in the spring.

Whats not like.

Arrived mid September for a 10 night stay. John could not been more accommodating with both his welcome and his assistance helping to site us on the slopping approach. The site is a credit to the owners being very well kept and manicured, with nothing being too much trouble for either of them. The site is situated ideally for visiting all areas of south Cornwall and armed with the information pack John gave us on arrival we didnt feel as if we missed much. Would we visit again, YES. Just one complaint, its too far away from home for us to return as much as we would like.

Lovely CL.

We stayed at Penmarth Caravan site for 5 nights early in April. John and Beryl were extremely welcoming and gave us a lot of local information. The site is beautifully kept and the local pub, the Golden Lion, does very good food at reasonable prices. A new hedge has been planted to separate the site from the road, but we did not feel overlooked at all. Lovely fresh eggs on sale. Only 6 miles to Falmouth, one of our favourite towns to visit. We will definitely visit again.

The Warmest of Welcomes

Staying on this CL is like staying with friends as John and Beryl are so welcoming. The site is well kept and the dog walk a real bonus. It is also superbly situated for visiting both the north and south coasts.

We visited this site in August, very nice owners very welcoming.  This site is very well kept although felt a little on show to the cars passing a long the road at the bottom of the site.

Lovely, Peaceful Site

John & Beryl couldn't have been more welcoming, we soon felt right at home. We had a lovely view of the far fields. John & Beryl made sure we had plenty of booklets and literature of surrounding places of interest to visit. Weather was changeable starting wet & windy but we still had some sunny days. We had so much to see and do, loved Falmouth with the Maritime Museum. Took a trip to St Ives & Newquay, places that we remember from when our 2 children were a lot younger. A brilliant weeks break made all the more enjoyable our brilliant hosts John & Beryl.

Welcoming and friendly

Very nice site and couldn't be more welcoming. A pleasure to visit and would love to go back again. The pub was within reasonable walking distance around the pleasant lake away from the road. (We did walk along the road at first, but that was narrow and busy). A newly mown dog walk was available on two fields which gave plenty of space to exercise our dogs away from the vans. Overall very impressed and excellent as a base for the southern part of Cornwall.

One word - Fantastic

From arrival to leaving John and Beryl made us feel very welcome and it made us feel as though we were visiting family or old friends rather than a stranger to the site. The site is meticulously kept by John and the pitches are well set out with open views to the front. John and Beryl are there for any information / advice on places to visit and, having lived in the area several years, can advise on the best beaches, coves and villages that are "must sees". We stayed for 2 weeks and it flew by, we will definitely visiting Penmarth again. John & Lorraine (East Yorkshire) Cool

A Cornish Gem - July 2013

Anyone who visits Penmarth CL will be in for a lovely welcome from John and Beryl. It is a beautiful site with views across a small valley. So peaceful and restful but with easy access to the most southern parts of Cornwall. Falmouth is only 10 minutes away by car. The pitches are most generous and no matter where you are it isn't above a few steps to water. The chemical disposal is conveniently placed and very clean. The whole site is very well kept and loved. Try the lovely mown dog walk through the fields whilst watching the birdlife - John can point out all the species and there is even a local hide not far away. We'll be staying there again of that there is no doubt. Many Thanks for a wonderful week. S and G Bolton Lancs

Ease of arrival/welcome

April 2013

We recently spent nine nights at Penmarth. John was there to welcome us when we arrived, he showed us round the site and advised us which way was the best place our van for the afternoon sun. Beryl also came over to welcome us. They were both very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Their site is ideally placed for visiting southern Cornwall and both coasts. It is about two minutes drive from the main arterial route but far enough away from the main road that you are in the beautiful Cornish countryside. The site was peaceful with fantastic views, very well cared for with everything nearby. We would not hesitate staying there again. P & K, Dorset.
