Overpriced for what is a basic site

We recently had a 2 night stay and on arrival were the only ones on site. On arrival, there was no water coming from the only drinking water tap for the CL and we tried the tap for rinsing waste which also wasn't working. I reported this to the owner who asked us to drive back up to the entrance and fill up using their hose pipe which was situated there. The water wasn't very pleasant though, not sure that this was drinking water! The problem with the water tap was rectified the following day. We had booked this site as we wanted to visit Errdig Hall (National Trust Property), please be aware though that in the 'Why Stay Here' information it states that it is a 15 minute walk away but this is incorrect. I asked the CL owner which was the best way to walk and she told us it was a long way. I checked on google maps and found that it would take 55 minutes! I would not recommend walking though as it is along a narrow twisty road with no footpaths. We took the motorhome and it was well worth the visit. We were a little mislead by the comment of a small shop on site, as it's not actually a shop but you could buy eggs and jams (not homemade though). We did buy half a dozen eggs and would definitely recommed, they were massive, with lovely golden yolks. Overall we felt that the price of £23 per night was too much for what for us was a basic site and for this reason we would not return.

Very relaxing stay

Excellent site, easy to find and lots of room. Sharon and Nigel were both VERY welcoming. Within easy walking distance from the local pub, which serves an excellent pint and reasonably priced food. We would thoroughly recommend this site.

Nice tranquil site

We only booked to stay here for one night as we needed to be in the area to view a caravan we were hoping to purchase and so the location suited us perfectly. Access is easy and some distance from the road so there is little or no road noise. The fishing lakes are nice and they do seem to attract a fair amount of fishermen/women so you do get some traffic from people coming to fish but they have their own access road down to the lakes. Amenities are basic, chemical waste disposal, freshwater tap, rubbish collection point and EHU at £20 a night it seemed a little on the high side but I guess with electricity prices going through the roof this is to be expected, but it was always about location for us and it was convenient. Pub within easy walking distance, although cannot comment as we didn't go there and a small shop in the village for essentials but just 2 miles down the road there was a large Lidl or Aldi (sorry cannot remember which!) I'm not sure it's an area we would return to for holidaying but if you want to explore this part of Wales, enjoy your fishing and peace and quiet then this may be the site for you.

NOMAD

lovely gem of a site with easy access. Sharon + Nigel made sure we were settled + showed us around. beautiful views over the fishing ponds of which there are 3, stocked with Perch + Carp. 5 minute drive to Wrexham and its shops and a handy base for visiting North Wales + Chester etc. Had a great few days + hopefully will be back soon. Thanks Sharon + Nigel

Peaceful and Serene

This is a fairly new site, set within a working farm. The pitches are a little on the narrow side but the views around the campsite make up for that, they are picture postcode and the location was so peaceful, there are several fishing lakes on the site too. This is an ideal location if you just want to unwind, relax and listen to the birds sing. The town of Wrexham is within a 5 minute car ride and the local taxi services are very reasonably priced. There is a bus stop just outside the site but the buses are very few and far between. There is a lovely large antique shop within a 10 minute walk from the site, which is definitely worth a look around. Sharon was so lovely and accommodating and we will definitely be visiting again.

Real Gem

This is a lovely welcoming site in a beautiful setting situated next to the fishing pools on a farm, you’d never believe it was so close to the local town and surrounding areas. We found it perfectly situated for days out all over north wales and Cheshire without spending hours in a car a real little gem. We’ll definitely be back soon. Thanks again Sharon and Nigel for your hospitality and we’re sure your new site will be a success.
