Great site

Lovely site which is well positioned to visit south Devon. Good welcome when arriving on site with options of which pitch to have. Admittedly the site is on a slope but plenty of wood made available to help level up the caravan. Great views from the van over the fields including the dog walking field which our dog loved. Toilet/shower block was great and kept spotlessly clean. Little bit of news from the road but that didn’t bother us.

Beautiful Views!

Lovely, neat site, well positioned for quick access to A35 , plus the adjacent road that runs directly alongside the site, (this is the reason why we dropped a star on peace and tranquillity, as with the wind direction, traffic noise is a consideration). We didn’t let it become an issue, as ear plugs at night are our must have!! However, the far reaching views and scenery are what made this site very special. We were welcomed by June, who was very friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower, although we didn’t use them, were kept pristine (we just made use of the facility to wash our hands after waste disposal) ! We did need to use plenty of blocks to level up our caravan, but there were bricks and pieces of wood for use, should you need extra!

So friendly and helpful

We struggled a bit to get our caravan into a good position on the sloping pitch here. The owner quickly came out to offer assistance. Unfortunately we don’t have a motor mover and manoeuvring with just the car proved tricky. The other 2 vans already in situ both had motor movers. As the weather wasn’t great and we were only staying 3 nights we didn’t bother with the awning so parked parallel to the hedge. This gave us great views. The dog walking field is a real bonus and there is a wood nearby. We didn’t use the on-site shower as the weather had turned chilly and wet. It was pristinely clean so definitely would have otherwise. The owner and family are really friendly and so helpful, loads of information supplied. There is a superb farm shop close by. We would definitely recommend this site.

A beautiful spot

Just home after a lovely six night stay on this beautiful site. Levelling was a challenge but worth it for the views across the valley. The scenery is lovely and the welcome was warm! Thanks for a lovely stay, we hope to return again. We would highly recommend this site. Thank you.

What a gem!

Having cut short our 8 night stay at a disappointing site nearby operating as a CS by the other club we arrived to a lovely welcome by June to stay for the remaining 6 nights of our holiday. The sloping all grass field pitches are very generous providing all the space necessary for social distancing and, though a little bit of levelling is required, the owners provide plenty of blocks and boards to help you. Water supply and hook-up is close to each pitch and the slope means that the grass is well drained and firm. Dog owners like us will welcome the 8 acre dedicated dog field adjacent and the pitches are so large that we could tether our staffie on a 6 metre wire without invading the next door pitch. The single combined toilet and shower is spotless and June kept it supplied with all the sanitising products necessary during this pandemic period. Devon is a county that is very keen on recycling and all the needed bins were marked up so that this could be carried out. The views from the field are stunning and it was lovely to sit out in the evenings watching the sun go down over the hills while supping one’s favourite tipple. There are several lovely dog friendly pubs nearby serving excellent food and there is even a Starbucks (but no dogs!) 5 minutes walk away if you fancy American style coffee shops. The coast is a 10 minute drive away and there are a few historic properties and gardens within easy reach. We were blown away by the value and beauty of this site and congratulate the owners for what they offer. We will be back!

Beautiful View

We stayed here for 5 nights in July and would highly recommend. Lovely view across the meadow and the owners couldn’t be more helpful. Shower/toilet room is spotless. Ideally located for trips by car to many locations along the Dorset/Dorset coastline. We will definitely use again a next year

Almost Perfect

We had 10 nights here in July. 10 BBQ's and 10 sunsets! OK we got lucky with the weather but that wouldn't change what is a lovely west facing view across open countryside. Yes it is sloping and this may cause issues for motorhomes but some were there when we stayed and they seemed to manage. There is some noise from the lane but that didn't bother us. The family are lovely and the facilities spotless. Everything is included in the price so there are no hidden extras like 50p for the awning and £1 for the shower which is such a pain on some sites. TV signal good as was 4G on Tesco and Three. Definitely would stay again.

Beautiful site, lovely people

This site was a real gem. Downsides (if they can be truly called that) are that it is a sloping site situated right next to the road. But once in and sorted, none of that detracted in any way from our stay. The family who own this site are lovely and so incredibly helpful - June with her encyclopaedic knowledge gave us a really good outline of the local area and what was what. The toilet and shower facility was SPOTLESS, and I mean spotless. A finishing touch was the large selection of Avon toiletries that were provided for us to use if we wished. We were the only people on site, the views were excellent and our collie had an entire meadow to herself to play in. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful place and returning as soon as we can. Five stars all round, and many, many thanks to the family for making our stay so pleasant. It is the thoughtfulness and finishing touches that give this site five stars all round. Thank you again.

Quiet with lovely views

Mrs Tollett welcomed us on arrival. She gave us an information sheet and shared her knowledge of the area and where to go. The pitch was spacious but was sloping. There were plenty of blocks to help level the caravan so no problems. The shower and toilet immaculate. Good recycling facilities. A very large field for dog walking was a bonus. We will definitely visit again.
