Lovely site definitely need good levelling gear

We recently stayed at Pine Trees, and our stay was extremely peaceful, we were there for five nights (mid August) and were the only unit on the site the whole of our stay. We had the choice of pitch but really struggled to level our motorhome and had to move twice, eventually settling for 'good enough' (glad we did not need to have our fridge on the gas). The cost of the stay included electricity which we considered reasonable, and the Toilet and shower block was very clean and tidy, although we never did manage to get hot water out of the shower, but didn't mind as we were on electric hook-up so we were able to use the one in our van. the A16 is a fairly busy road and you have to be sharp-eyed to catch the sign for Pine Trees, especially if you are coming up the hill, as it looks as though you are pulling onto someone's driveway from the road. The owner is very welcoming and did say that if we struggled to get off site if it rained he had the equipment to pull us up the hill. It was cash only so we had to make a little trip out to get enough to pay for our stay. We cycled a lot and kept our van on site for most of the stay, this had a lot to do with the levelling issue. However, it was close to, the Aviation centre which was the main reason for our visit. Tattershall castle and Gumby House were also within cycling distance and so was Spilsby the nearest town. Disappointingly for us, there was no pub within walking distance so eating out wasn't easy, and something that we like to do. We were able to cycle to one about three miles away but obviously, this impacted in us enjoying a beer with our meal. The view from our van however was spectacular, we could look over to Boston and could see the Stump in the distance. There were rabbits running around in the field opposite in the evening which was cute to watch. The site is overlooked by a few houses but not intrusively so. My only advice to anyone wanting to stay here is you really need some good, high, levelling gear as it really is quite steep, the pictures i have seen do not make it look as steep as it is. but if you can put up with that then you will enjoy your stay, we did.

Check first

Easy access. Definitely need levelling blocks but able to set up without too much difficulty. Our standard cable was too short to reach any of the electric points but we found a couple of extension leads located by the toilets. The views are great and just through the field there is a bench where you are able to sit and admire the scenery. There are 2 toilets, 2 handbasins and a large shower room - the best we have seen on a CL. The location is ideal for visiting the Aviation Centre and Woodhall Spa, Boston and Skegness are within easy driving distance. After we arrived, the owner informed us that a group of caravanners would be arriving during our stay. When the 2nd and 3rd of these arrived we were dismayed at the apparent lack of consideration of these people. The outfits were placed lengthways right across the front window of our caravan blocking out any view we had and also pitched far too close to us. Their outfits were nose to tail. The site owner was on the field and did not appear to consider their actions to be inappropriate as "they always park like that". As there were more outfits to arrive both on that day and the following day we decided to leave immediately. This really spoilt our stay here hence reflected in our rating. In summary, great CL with many positives but would advise checking with the owner if he is expecting any "regular" groups that may have an impact on your stay.

Short Break.

Nice CL,very good toilet facilities with excellent shower. The ground is sloping but not to extreme and we managed to site our van okay and reached the electric hook up easily. Marvelous views to Boston and the surrounding area. There are plenty of walks nearby.would recommend this site.

Brilliant CL

Just spent the best part of 3 weeks at this CL and I have added it to our list of favourite sites. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that the site is not level and a two wheel drive car will struggle to get to some of the pitches. The facilities are excellent and the views from the site are incredible.

Pretty site, good facities and a warm welcome.

A lovely  spot for a short break. Beautiful views, excellent clean facilities, two loos, two wash basins and a wet room shower, luxurious for a CL.  Great for dogs, lovely walks straight of the site. Friendly proprietor who was always around if anything needed.  Only teeny nit pick ( and it is teeny!) is that some sort of minimal light to mark the doorway to the facilities block after dark would be nice. Even just a solar garden light would have been handy. We loved it and it is one to go into our little book of places to re visit.

Lovely site with magnificent views

Just spent 3 nights at this lovely site in the Lincolnshire Wolds.  We normally use sites with hard standing as we have a large twin axle van, but although we needed to level the van this site was no trouble at all.  We had rain one day but the site didn't get waterlogged - being at the top of the hill it must drain away quickly.  If the site had hard standing though I would have given it 5 stars!  The views from the site are magnificent (the photo doesn't do it justice) - you can just see Norfolk in the far distance and have a clear view of Boston Stump across the valley.  The changing light gives different aspects to the view throughout the day. The site is large and roomy, and the friendly owner, Mr Atkin allows you to park at whichever angle you choose.  The excellent shower and toilet block is kept very clean, and there are two toilets to use, one of which has been created as a disabled toilet.  Plenty of liquid soap is always available along with paper towels - no nasty unhygienic towel here!  There is a little file of local information and places to visit and also a few magazines to read if you ever get fed up of looking at that view!  There are plenty of places to visit nearby eg the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby, the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby as well as Woodhall Spa (with the Petwood Hotel), the Blue Bell Inn and other spots on the aviation heritage trail.  Also worth a visit are the ruins of Bolingbrook Castle, only a couple of miles up the road, and the little town of Spilsby 2.5 miles away. All in all a gem of a site as they say - and we will definitely be back.
