Frequent Visitor

We have used this CL many times & will continue to do so. It ticks all the boxes for our needs. Safe & Secure, Peaceful apart from trains, planes & traffic (but all these are out of owners control) In this part of the world £15nt for two peaple is unbeatable (especially when you consider what a couple of drinks in a pub will set you back in these parts). Mrs Rees has always welcomed us and has respected our privacy, the site is also well maintained with mature trees/shrubs each pitch comes with its own wheelie bin, water/electric supply & grey waste drain. Will be back again soon.

Nice Site.

I don't understand the review "What a nightmare". I've stayed on this site a number of times and found it excellent. Yes you have to pass through a few industrial units and a few static caravans to get to the CL, but so what. Also, if a couple of the pitches are occupied by people working in the area, again so what (on my next visit next week I will be mixing work & pleasure). The fact is that it is secure, quiet and you get a wide pitch with water, electrics and drain behind your van (facilities that you would pay a lot more for on a Club Site or a private one). Happy Caravaner.

Mixed feelings

On arrival my TomTom took me 100 yards past the location then turning right down the wrong road, the sign for the location is only seen when driving from the other direction. I say this not as a complaint but as a warning to others. A short phone call to the owner and I was sorted out. That said when you do turn in it is not obvious that you need to drive to the barrier. The owner greeted me and directed me to the CL. Yes you do drive through a few work units car park and past what looks like some permanent static vans. The CL is good but I have to agree with the comments of the last review that there looked to be 2 old run down vans that have not moved in a while on 2 of the pitches. At £14 a night I felt safe, the barrier is down all weekend but up during working hours. The pitch is hard standing with electric and water and they are large. The showers were very tired and to be honest dirty with no hot water at the men's sink for shaving, take a bowel. I was on my own but feel my wife would not have used them, I did as my wife is the one who sorts out our shower after it's used. There is a train track close by and you do hear the last few trains at night then the early morning ones but hey ho. If you want a CL in this location it's great and I think you can leave your van all day knowing it's safe. £14 a night in this area can't grumble too much and would use again.

What a nightmare !

C.L is in what can only be described as a "Shanty town" of industrial units, car parks, stables, permanently located static and tourer vans. 3 pitches on C.L occupied with what appeared to be permanent caravans used to live in/live in during working week. Facilities below reasonable standard. Large scale domestic argument occurred at house ( within C.L owners property) 10 metres from our van including men fighting, property being broken, much shouting and swearing, and women crying, at 9pm for 30 minutes . Not the relaxing break we were looking for. Avoid !

Well kept site

We arrived at 8pm and the owner came out to greet us and give us the gate code. We were made very welcome. The site is right beside a railway line but we did not find this a problem. The grounds were beautifully kept and each pitch was fully serviced. We stayed 3 nights and would recommend this site to others. The shower block was not immediately obvious located as it was through the stable yard but once found it was quite close to the van. The Cl itself was surrounded by trees and hedges and beautifully kept the Pinecopse of its name being in the middle of the 5 pitches all of which were hard standing. A very secure site with a coded barrier at night.

Well done, Mrs. Reed

We arrived, on schedule, rang Mrs Reed, spoke to her daughter and were greeted by phone. Requested payment before leaving! The only rule was, no rules! The place was clean and tidy. No-one bothered us. The trains went by, so what, no problem. Planes flying into London Airport, good for spotting. Toilets and shower spotless, cleaned every day. Grounds well looked after, could have been Kew Gardens. Would go again.

Satisfied Caravaner

I have to write this in defence of this site, Unsatisfied Caravanner, I believe was quite harsh with their review. We stayed here for a good 7 days and was not overly disturbed by the trains at all. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed every aspect of the site. The other users were pleasant as were the residents who stayed there on a semi-permanent basis. The area is ideal for walking/cycling in the forest. Other areas of interest are all local and very accessible. I am and will be visiting this site again in the future, we stayed here last year and only saw this review by chance as I am looking at booking a return visit.

Dissatisfied caravaner

So sorry to say but we where not happy with this CL site you enter up a very pretty driveway then go though a small industrial estate then into the site which is very nice with trees and hardstandings BUT the peace is shattered by the trains passing by the other side of the fence this goes on till 12.30 and starts again at 5in the morning so no sleep I don't normally write but I had to let people know about this,if it wasn't for the trains the site would be great with beautiful walks just across the road ...
