We only stayed 4 nights, We wanted to visit Gwrych Castle where they filmed I'm a Celebrity. The site is well maintained with short grass pitches . Sloping but plenty of blocks to help. The owners were very pleasent and helpful. The lane approach is very ,narrow. But fortunately not used very much. Abergele although a typical seaside town, has a beach of rocks and stones, difficult to walk on. The town gives free parking which today is a godsend . We didn't have a lot of time to visit places although others on site told us a few interesting places to go. The castle nestled in the hill , so quite a uphill walk to reach it, I was offered to be allowed to take our car part way but I was a hero and managed it. The gardens are lovely. The castle is huge. The history interesting. I was shocked to learn it was distroyed, not by war but by New Age Travellers in 1996/1997 who squatted there . We met a lovely man who told us all about I'm a Celeb..... this in it's self was interesting. A good day out. . Book on line Concessions £8 including car park and map.
