Great Value CL

This site is excellent if you want to be near to all the beaches on the tip of the Llynn Peninsular. We reccied this small site last year before we bought our caravan. It is a simple grass field with what I counted to be 9 pitches in total. The field is about an acre in size so the pitches are very well spread out even with a large twin axle, full awning and car parked side by side. None of you intrude on one another at all. Get this though, all the pitches are super pitches in that they all have 16amp EHU, fresh water tap and grey waste drains as well as excellent spacing. The field is noticeably flat so no levelling blocks were required and our pitch (No 4) had a second fresh water tap as well as the water hook up. All this cost only £15 per night. You only pay for the pitch so includes full size awning, child and two dogs. Great value for money. Most people place their vans nose in on the front fenced side of the field as it is true what the previous reviewer said, you get a good view of the sea and spectacular sunsets to your front from within your van if you so choose. Unfortunately for us, we arrived in the rain in our twin axle monster and being novices, I didn't trust our motor mover would cope with the task so I parked conventionally using our 4x4. We arrived on a Thursday and for the first two days had the whole site to ourselves which was excellent as our dogs could charge up and down the field and burn off energy. Mrs Evans is a lovely lady who welcomed us and could be seen throughout our two week stay labouring away and emptying your dustbins of rubbish. Each pitch has its own dustbin as well as the recycling area near the entrance. There is only one toilet which is literally an outside brick **it-house but was clean and functional although might be a little cold if you are winter caravanners. The shower is in another brick built affair right next to the toilet so again, might be a little urgent for winter use but the shower itself was excellent. This takes 20p pieces and gives you around 3 minutes a shot. I was able to shower and shampoo in lovely hot water for 40p but you can deffo shower all over for 20p. Both blocks are attached to the main farm house where Mrs Evans lives. We have been to this area of Wales every year now for 11 years but this was our first caravan trip and the weather was not as reliable as on previous years, we had quite strong winds (50mph) on a few nights and days which was a bottle test for novices like us. Storm Straps should be deployed on arrival so you don't get caught out. Make sure you take your own screw on tap adapters and hose extensions and get the proper yellow ones as the tap pressure is high and blew my cheap attachments off at first. Luckily I had an assortment of equipment so overcame this quickly. Finally, approach from the Aberdaron direction and not from Whistling Sands as you will never turn you vehicle and van in through the gate otherwise. From Aberdaron, you drive straight in.
