Beautiful site

We stayed at Poplar Farm CL site for 5 nights in mid October 2021. The site is so easy to find, just follow the directions given and you can't go wrong. No single track bumpy roads or tight turns to negotiate. They have 7 pitches but only have 5 vans on at any time, this gives you a choice of pitches. We chose pitch 5 which is next to the little allotment type garden. As well as electric hook up it, pitch 5 has its own water supply and a grey water drain. We were given a very warm welcome by Fiona who explained where things were and gave us local info such as nearest shops, walks etc. The site is fairly flat, there is a " telephone box " information and book exchange and the area for the bins etc was kept extremely clean and tidy. TV reception was good. We saw Fiona and Bryan several times during our stay and Fiona even came over to say goodbye when we left. This was a first for us, makes you feel truly welcome. All pitches are a generous size and the site has hedges and a row of tall trees in front of the stream which is also fenced and gated. The stream is a small chalk steam and it can be fished. My husband tried his luck and caught some small chub and brown trout. Very pretty place to sit and just watch the beautiful clear water running by. RAF Coningsby is just a few miles away so aircraft can sometimes be heard, we did go to Coningsby and watched the Typhoon jets taking off and landing. There is a free public car park opposite the end of the runway where you can watch the planes. Coningsby has some small shops and a lovely cake shop!! There were a lot of tractors going past the site while we were there, they started moving while it was still dark, don't know if this happens all year. It didn't bother us but some people might find it a bit noisy. Horncastle is few miles away and we used the tesco store there for our provisions. Woodhall Spa is also close by, lovely little place to walk around, I did want to go to the Teahouse in the Woods for afternoon tea but they were closed for holiday during our stay. We went to Skegness for an afternoon, took us about 40 mins. Plenty of amusements and rides if you like that sort of thing. Really enjoyed our stay at Poplar farm, keep up the good work.

Thank you very much for your review.  We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.  You visited us during harvest time so there was a lot of activity, the tractors aren't usually so busy.  We hope to see you again.
