Stunning little Gem

We were so pleased to arrive at the site with the most amazing view we have ever had on a site a great five van CL site with lots of space between each pitch and un interrupted view of the sea in front of us. Pam and Adrian make you very welcome and very helpful with info on the local area , the site is all grass well kept you have 10 amp electric ,toilet which had just been opened again after COVID restrictions changed. This place is in a tranquil location of Port Logan with a two minute walk to a lovely Sandy beach the sunset is amazing constant bird song makes it a total chill out and relaxing just sitting watching and listening. Lots to see and do from here the botanical gardens, Drummore and lighthouse, Portpatrick, Isle of Whithorn is a must and a trip to Galloway forest park to Glentrool good walks. Will definitely return and highly recommend. Phil & Karen Lancashire

Stunningly beautiful location and excellent welcome

The pictures do not do justice to this breathtaking location and its views and sunsets across the Irish Sea. The welcome and assistance from Pam and Adrian was first class and we needed some help pitching having arrived after a week of heavy rain that had left the ground rather soft. That soon dried up and we had a perfect week exploring the local attractions, with the botanical gardens highly recommended ,boating and fishing from the picture-perfect harbour or just soaking up the views. The facilities are spotlessly clean and well maintained and the site itself is huge for just 5 vans. You needn't be less than 15m from your neighbour. We shall definitely return.

Port Logan Caravan Site, Dumfries & Galloway....Peace perfect peace!!

As others have said this is the site to get away from it all, without traffic noise and beautiful views. The all grass site lies at the end of a concrete drive a couple of hundred yards from the small coastal village of Port Logan, its-self the terminus of two B roads. The site overlooks the Thomas Telford built quay and most of the semicircular mainly sandy bay which extend to the far Mull of Logan headland and then over the North Channel to the distant hills of Northern Ireland. The beach is dog friendly and ideal for our daily walks, and for the angler fishing is easy off both the beach and the quay. The site, which at the moment has only 4 pitches, does slope in two directions so levelling blocks or apparatus are required, and has EHU and toilet . There is no longer a pub or shop in the village and the nearest are at Drummore, about 5 mls away. Major shops such a Aldi, Morrisons (with a petrol station) and a Tesco can be found at Stranraer. There are 6 Gardens open to visitors within easy driving distance including Logan Botanic Gardens and those at Castle Kennedy. Other particular places of interest are the Mull of Galloway with it's lighthouse and Port Patrick, from where the Southern Upland Way long distance footpath starts. The site owners, Pam & Adrian, are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. There is a minimum of 7 night's stay on the site, which may not suit some, but as we and others have found there's plenty to do and see while staying there. It's an excellent site for relaxing and taking things easy. Look forward to returning in due course.

A very well maintained site with friendly and helpful hosts. The outlook is ever changing and stunning With a 3 min walk to the beach. Not very often do I not want to come home, and would love to visit again and again in the near future. If you want to leave the site, there is a lovely café at the lighthouse, Stranraer has activities during the season, Port Logan Botanical Gardens are also a must. If you want pubs shops etc do not go, as there are none in the village. It all made for a relaxing time to rest and refresh.

Lovely site and locality

Our second trip to this site and well worth the long journey from the Midlands. Stunning views and surroundings , lots to do in the locality and whilst the weather wasn't always great that is to be expected and didn't spoil our time spent here. Visited some glorious gardens. coastline and towns all dog friendly. Took trips to Carsluith to get lovely fish and smoked foods , although little success in catching our own tea off the cliffs below the site ! Will return one day !

Stunning

We’ve stayed on this site several times over the years and it never fails to deliver. If you want peace, tranquility, fabulous views, stunning sunsets and wildlife then this site has it in bucketloads. There are often extremes of weather at any time of the year so you need to be prepared in terms of warm and waterproof clothes and heavy duty guy ropes and pegs for your awning. Pam and Adrian are so friendly and welcoming and have a wealth of information regarding what’s on in the local area including which pubs have the best craft ales. We can recommend the Clashwannon pub in Drummore, the Tigh na Mara in Sandhead, the Waterfront, Port Pantry and Connors in Portpatrick and the Steampacket in the Isle of Whithorn for good and plentiful food. Logan Botanical gardens, Glenwahn and Castle Kennedy are all well worth visiting as is the Mull of Galloway. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.. Tillypop

Beautiful sunset, sea view and warm welcome!

The pictures say it all. BEAUTIFUL sea view, cliff walks, fishing and very friendly hosts. Very informative website including local bus timetable and pub links. Would thoroughly recommend!

Stunning!

This has to be the most stunning site we have enjoyed for many years. We were made to feel extremely welcome by our hosts, Pam and Adrian. They are living their dream having moved here a couple of years ago after many years of holidaying in the area. Night after night we had to pinch ourselves as we watched wonderful sunsets surrounded by the sights and the sounds of the sea, with all manner pf seabirds swooping over us, some diving vertically from great heights into the sea to catch their supper. We felt so privileged to be here; sites like this are very few and far between. Such quiet, such peace, such views; this CL is extremely special. We can't wait to revisit!

Best views ever

We enjoyed a two week stay here in July 2017. The sea views are amazing from the caravan and we loved being able to stroll down to the beach close by without needing to take the car. The beach was quiet, even on sunnier days. Our greyhounds loved being able to run off lead safely in the evenings when we practically had the beach to ourselves! The sunsets here are just amazing. Pam and Adrian are very welcoming and hard-working owners. We came for rest and relaxation, which we definitely achieved, and also spent some time exploring the area, including some of the public gardens, many of which are dog-friendly. The Mull of Galloway is well worth a visit and has a great café. The fishpond across the bay is also well worth a visit. The person running the fishpond will appreciate anything from Greggs bakery as there isn't one for miles around! We found the drive to Stranraer reasonably quick because the roads are quiet and very well maintained. Portpatrick is a beautiful fishing village well worth a visit. Despite is being summer, the downside of the site was the wind, but that's probably normal for coastal sites. We put a heavy duty awning up, which was fine, but we took it down temporarily when a storm was forecast. We have a porch-style awning and because the ground sloped up from the caravan it was difficult to get a snug fit between the edges of the awning and the caravan. We loved the peacefulness of Port Logan and found the villagers to be particularly welcoming and friendly towards visitors. It will be great when the hotel refurbishment has been completed so that there is somewhere close by to go for a meal or drink.

Outstanding.

Due to the weather of rain, rain, we bit sun and more rain on south west coast of Scotland in 2017, this site took its toll resulting in wet ground. However site is situated high and wind helps to dry things off quicker. The one item to take with you on going here that is a must, is not welly boots but Binoculars, as your field of view is emence as can be seen in site pictures. We arrived there in September with our 23 foot Motorhome for three days and they had been having the dreaded rain up till then. The Motorhome placement placement was a bit of a mess due the soggy hardstanding but the proprieters gave us info before hand about it with option to cancel if we wanted. We wanted to be there though as we are used to the rain as we reside near Dumfries. We were given a substitute location which suited us and views were still outstanding. Overall we hope the Motorhome hardstanding is taken care of as we intend to return next year.
