Stunning

The most beautiful views from this campsite. We booked early in the year directly with Pam and Adrian. We Messed Pam and Adrian around a couple of times due to changes in our circumstances and we always received a lovely email back accommodating us. As Pam and Adrian weren’t there we were greeted by the worlderful Andrea. The views from this site are stunning. The weather was mixed which meant the scenery kept changing. Yes it windy and yes it can get wet and can be fun to get off in a caravan but this is one of the nicest sites we have ever stayed on. The sunsets are incredible. Thank you Pam and Adrian for sticking with us as we messed you around and for Andrea for making our stay entertaining.

Lovely CL

Just returned from having seven nights at this peaceful and lovely CL. We were looked after by Andrea, who made us very welcomed. The views are great, toilet facilities etc were very good. Yes, it can be windy but our awning stood up to the wind. On our last day we watched a wedding take place on the harbour wall and were treated to a firework display with all the wedding guests in the evening We visited many place and even had a trip over to Northern Ireland. This is only our third trip to a CL, but I hope it will not be our last to Port Logan. The only thing which would have put the cherry on the cake, is if they had a pub in the village that you could have a evening stroll to.

WHAT A VIEW,

Had a wonderful and relaxing 6 night stay at this site in July. Pam and Adrian were friendly and welcoming from booking until waving us off and gave us lots of info and suggestions of things to do around and about but to be honest we were reluctant to leave this lovely site. It is very well maintained with lots of room for 5 units.we were on the hard standing and felt as if we had our own lawned garden beside us. The site is on a elevated position which does mean it gets windy at times but this gives you wonderful views of the village,harbour.sea.beach and wonderful skies. Even though Port Logan is a dead end and the site is at the far end there is so much to watch in peace and quiet. We loved it and have no problem recommending it. Sue and Jim

Can't wait to return....

It's hard to write this review because we don't want it to be fully booked whenever we want to return. We would like to keep it for ourselves. The setting is perfect-quiet, scenic and yet plenty to look at with boats in the bay and the ever-changing sky. Ideal for the dog with a short stroll down to the beach. The toilet/recycling room was immaculate, and it will be even better if the shower gets connected in the future. Andrea gave us a lovely welcome in the absence of Pam and Adrian. We will be back a soon as we can. Thank you!

Our stay at Port Logan can only be described as stunning!!

What a wonderful site! Within a short time of arriving at the site we were totally chilled-out, the views of the coast, harbour and watching the wildlife was totally absorbing. We enjoyed just over a week on site in May and the facilities and site couldn't have been better. It will definitely be on our list to revisit very soon!! M Deakin - caravaner

Sea, Sand, Scenery and Sunsets it’s got it All!

We have recently returned from a 9 night stay on this Fabulous C L. We were met by Andrea who was looking after the site whilst Pam and Adrian were away and we couldn’t have wished for a better host, she visited the site daily to check all was well. I totally endorse the comments from the other reviewers; the views are spectacular and the sunset even better. I don’t know of any other coastal CL that is so close to the water and it gets my vote for CL of The Year! I thank Pam and Adrian for sharing with us their wonderful back garden and look forward to returning in the future. This surely has to be Scotland’s Best Kept Secret, but don’t tell everyone!

Weather awning warning!

The outlook from this site is second to none, beautiful views, sun sets, the harbour and the beach.Unfortunately we suffered from high and gusty winds which speaking to some of the locals are quite a common occurence here. At the end of our stay we did have some damage to our awning. So I would be very wary about putting your awning up.The site has quite a slope to it so be prepared to put a little effort into leveling your caravan and take a few more blocks. We have two dogs so the beach was great to walk down to. The nearest general shop is in Drummore approx 5 miles from the site, Morrisons supermarket, which sells petrol is approx 14 miles away so the site is a little isolated but it's something you get use too and accept. If you are into sea fishing then this site is great..just walk down to the beach and cast away! We traveled out sight seeing but be prepared to put the miles in, Castle Kennedy gardens are well worth a visit as is Kirroughtree forest walks. The owners were away most of the time whilst we were there but they did welcome us on our arrival and seemed very helpful. So to conclude..choose your time when you go,watch the weather forecast and keep the fuel tank full !

It's got it all !

We stayed a this CL in mid August and were greeted by both Adrian and Pam who made it clear that we were more than welcome. The site is on a bit of a slope and you can more or less pitch where you like as the whole site has views overlooking both the sea and the harbour. Facilities on the site are excellent, there is a Toilet which is tastefully decorated by Adrian with a nautical theme, apparently he cannot pass any shop selling nautical themed Knick-Knacks without buying something to add to the décor. Recycling is as we have become accustomed to on Club Sites so no probs there, the grass is kept short enough to play bowls on. The 5 van rule is also strictly adhered to on this CL. It is self evident that Adrian and Pam have clearly put a lot of effort into bringing this site back to life and are to be congratulated on their hard work. The site overlooks Port Logan with superb views across the bay and right over the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland with plenty of shipping to watch and super sunsets are the order of the day. The harbour in Port Logan can become a very busy little place with small boats and fishing boats coming and going all day. Dog walking on the beach is brilliant and our Cocker Spaniel Bailey absolutely loved it. Fishing can be done from either the harbour jetty or off the rocks along the foot of the CL. Nearby is Port Logan Fish Pool which is quite interesting as you can see Cod, Haddock, Plaice etc swimming in the pool. Portpatrick is another lovely small harbour only a few miles up the coast with eateries etc. The Mull of Galloway Lighthouse is at the end of the Peninsular and on a clear day you can see Ireland, Isle of Man and England. The cliffs at the lighthouse is home to many species of Seabirds, Puffins. Cormorants, Shags to name but a few and can be seen from the cliff tops nearby. This is one of those sites where you can go out exploring or feel equally comfy sitting out in the Sun with either a cuppa or glass of wine and enjoy the view which as has already been said is simply stunning. This is a CL which we are more than willing to support and hope many more members will visit this site and help to keep it going. Thanks again Arian & Pam for a super stay, looking forward to next May when we will be back !

Excellent site

This is a beautiful site with a fabulous location and views. The motorhome hard standing excellent  The owner was away when we arrived Andrea standing in did a great job of welcoming us and checking all ok daily . The electric went off one day and we were in touch easily and the matter was dealt with very quickly ( think it was a van causing the problem not the site electrics!) The accessibility to the beach couldn't be better and the views are wonderful with some stunning sunsets. There are good places to visit locally .. but you need to like the coast and gardens ! Enjoyed catching our own tea from the sea and getting lobster fresh from the boat. We will definitely return .. although sure we will need to book early once people get to know the site
