Disappointing

Neat campsite and easy to obtain water, find rubbish bin etc. We booked the site as it advised there is an on-site restaurant, bar and pizza pop up evening on a Sunday. The restaurant appears to be permanently closed now……. The Sunday pizza event never appeared. Fortunately there is a pub within walking distance as we hadn’t taken much in the way of food therefore ate at the pub! As to the advertised walks from sure the trails were shoulder high over grown. You’d need a machete & lots of insect spray to undertake them! Fortunately we were only there two nights. You definitely need a car or transport to go somewhere unless you just want to sit by your van. Also as others mention there is periodic noise from motor mowers being repaired close by. Noted that planning permission was also being sought for 30 caravan spaces to be created on site. Might be worth checking facilities for future bookings!

Response from the Club:

The CL owner has been in touch as they want to ensure everyone has the best possible time on their CL Site and as such they would like to address your concerns.

The onsite restaurant is temporarily closed as there is a hot water issue but they hope to open again soon. This information is communicated to members when they book and the alternative is a pub where food can be served just a few minutes walk away. As the pub is under the same ownership as the restaurant they are giving our members a 10% off for the inconvenience.

The reference to overgrown hedges, this is a council issue and the CL owner is not responsible for the cutting of grass except on the CL.

The Pizza van is available on Saturdays 4-8pm during school holidays only. This is made clear on the communication that is sent to members (and clarified on their website) so guest are made aware of it.

The planning permission for 30 vans will be independent to the CL if the CL owner does decide to go ahead with any developments.

Peaceful stay close to the river

Large field with hook ups mainly on one side of the field. Enjoyed the very short walk to the Bell Pub by the river and hiring a boat from the shop opposite it. Easy bus ride to Great Yarmouth with the bus stop being close by. Delicious pizza from the van that was on site the Saturday we arrived. The restaurant adjoining the site hopefully opening this month. We would definitely stay here again.

Very disappointed.

We stayed here for 12 nights the site lacked TLC, bin not emptied regularly rubbish was overflowing only one small bin. Never saw owners the whole time we were there. A lawnmower repair business behind our pitch making it very noisy. We were not aware the restaurant had closed recently owing to retirement and the Pizza box was never open either. For £25 a night paid before arrival this is definitely a rip off, have never payed this price before but we thought it looked worth it! Will definitely not return could be so lovely.

Disappointed.

Although handy for Gt Yarmouth, that's about it. Couldn't find anyone, or where they lived. Spoke to a couple of girls that said they lived in a shed around the corner!! The grass needed mowing. Noise from a yard behind the hedge. No information shed at all. I know eclectic has gone up but not worth the £25 a night at all!! It's basically a field with a high price tag. I know it's a CL use them all the time. Not this one again....

A little disapointed

Fairly quiet except for some road noise, water and waste facilities were good but only one small bin which was overflowing with rubbish. Grass badly in need of a cut, restaurant closed all week we were there, pizza van only open during school holidays. Never saw site owners, will not return.

Great site to stay at

A very peaceful and spacious site. A little pricey as there are no toilets or shower facility but there is plenty of space between pitches and there is water, chemical waste and drive over grey waste facilities. This is a mainly unmanned site but newly set up and easy to book online. There is easy access to a local pub within a 5 minute walk, food excellent. Sadly the onsite restaurant closed recently. Would definitely return, it was a lovely and peaceful break.

Large peaceful site!

Just spent a lovely six days at Priory Farm. An excellent large site with good size pitches, all with well placed electric posts and lights on them controlled by you! Fairly new facilities and an informative website. Well placed for visits and walks around the area, visited Hardley Staithe for a lovely hike along broads with a visit to a restored watermill. Drove to Great Yarmouths Venetian Waterways, lovely and many more places. The Priory Restaurant close by was also good with very generous portions, be warned!!! The Bell pub on the riverbank is also only a 10 minute walk away. If you want space around you, to be left alone and lovely countryside on your doorstep we would recommend this site.

Love this site

Can recommend this site. The five pitches are in a huge field, well spaced apart. Although it’s not far from the main road, the huge trees block most of the road nouse, and we weren’t disturbed by it. The site is very well kept, and has everything you would expect from a CL site. The Priory restaurant next is open from Wednesday to Sunday, and is excellent . The Bell is 3 minute walk away, and does traditional food; good ales too. Somerleyton is a decent walk away, and worth a visit. Lovely nature walks around the area . This is our second visit, and we’ll be back!

Disappointing

When we arrived on site we were the only ones there until the next morning. "The good points".... Everything on the site is new. Pub just down the road - which we did use but the restaurant on site we didn't as no opening times & internet not available on site! "Not so good points" There is a little road noise as site is just off the main village road. We were disappointed there were no animals in the sanctuary which is supposed to be on the next field. No welcome of any sort...ie: - no emergency numbers, welcome pack, or owners! Decided to leave a day early, had booked again for July but cancelled as soon as we got home....

Loved my stay!

There was some incredible sights to see by the river with a huge windmill looking over fields, an amazing forest walk thats only 10 minute by foot away and its all dog friendly! I wanted to arrive in the morning as i travelled by night but it states i can only arrive by 1 but i called in and they said 11 was okay as my pitch was free from then and they had just finished cutting the grass around it. It was really peaceful with the occasional horse noise around 10pm but apart from that you cant really hear anything else :) I loved my stay and i highly recommend to anyone who loves views, walks, large pitches and going away with there dog :) There was also a horse box serving pizza on Saturday where i enjoyed a scrumptious duck pizza. There was also a restaurant about a minute away and a pub just a two minute walk that's by the river where i enjoyed a pint and some chips, i don't know if the other restaurant is good but i looked quite busy. Anyone who stays make sure to check that Priory pizza is on! An incredible stay, highly recommended :) I will definitely be coming back soon!
