Purlbrook Farm

Our first visit to this CL although probably not our last, we stayed 4 nights. I support all that has been said by the previous 5 reviews although, on arrival, we found the access track difficult to take slowly and it did rather shake up our motorhome. Caution is required when arriving and leaving the site. Forewarned, we travelled much more slowly on the descent and found it a much more comfortable ride. You definitely need levelling blocks on any of the five good sized pitches and nose down motorhomes might find it more advantageous to pitch nose in which may not give the best views over the Frome Valley from inside the van. Caravans should find levelling much easier. Once settled in the views and the fine weather were much appreciated as were the walks in the woods on Shucknall Hill which can be accessed from the back of the large field behind the site. Buzzards were abundant and although we did not see deer, their barks could be heard in the early morning from the site and they are clearly around.
