Great farm site

Just returned from this lovely farm site. Caravan was there 19 days and shared by 3 families over that period. All had a great time watching farmer at work and the animals being herded by the dogs. This is a working farm so there is evidence of this about the farm. The camping field is great, grass was short and plenty of space to allow privacy or group together. Both farmer and wife were very friendly and told us where everything was including their lovely pool which you can book for. All in all a jem of a site. Farm dog is very friendly so no need to worry if you're not a dog fan. Do remember though it is a farm so you will hear some farm machinery moving about in the mornings but this is all part of the experience. Kids loved watching the tractor up work. Other people have mentioned dog poo everywhere but please don't let those reviews put you off as we saw no evidence of this. Play area is fenced so no dogs get in. It's a lovely play park a real bonus for a CL. We hope to visit again in the future.

Full self use of the pool and good value.

We stayed there two nights in our Motorhome. The field is large and two other units were present. The site was quiet with the benefit of little light pollution at night. There is a good play area for young. We loved the indoor heated pool which you sign for and you get the whole pool to yourself and family for an hour. The owners were very friendly and relaxed. It was very interesting to watch the sheep being herded by the dog. Overall it was very good value.

Adequate

Have just spent 6 nights at Pyesmead Farm, although the owners were pleasant and polite we came away feeling quite disappointed… - For most of the time there were more than 5 vans across 2 fields meaning we were quite away from the water point in the other field. - Our field had not been mowed, as the weather was not great this made it very wet underfoot. - Dog mess everywhere from the farm dogs, in a number of occasions our children came back to the van covered in dog mess - was even happening and not being picked up in owners presence whilst they were building a new patio in same field with loud music blaring all day. - Large lorry deliveries at 11pm with no notification of disturbance. - Swimming pool cost went from £4 to £5 per person an hour after our arrival, a big difference when we had 6 children and four adults in our party across two vans (didn’t pay the increase). However a great location for access to the New Forest but our overall experience was disappointing.

Well Run Working Farm Site

On first arrival it can be a little confusing finding the CAMH field, as there is a bypass loop around the other houses leading up to the farm, then you have to drive through the actual farm to get to the field. Once on site, it is very spacious, and very well kept, as is the rest of the farm. The owners are friendly, but not to the point of being overwhelming. If you're happy with everything, they leave you to get on with it, but are always there to offer help if needed. During the day time it can be very busy, as it is very much a working farm. For some it may be a bit too much, but for others, especially with kids, can be fantastic. You will see Robert expertly driving all sorts of farm machinery, sheep being moved around with the help of working sheep dogs, and cows spying through the hedge on what you're having for breakfast. Never a dull moment! Once the farm work draws to a close, its a very peaceful site, and a lovely place to be. There's plenty of space to walk the dog, there are picnic tables to use in the field, and there is a lovely little heated swimming pool to use. Cost is 4 quid, but for that you get sole use for a whole hour. Location is spot on too. Its less than five minutes drive into the forest. About fifteen into Romsey, and around twenty into Southampton City centre. If you want to explore the area, you couldn't really find a much better location. If I were to be asked to point out any negatives, it would be the following: The toilet disposal point is a bit of a trek to get to. On a number of occasions I've come across dog mess in and around the field. As far as I can tell, this wasn't from caravanners pets, but from the farm dogs which mostly run loose. In my opinion the positives far outweigh the negatives though, and I would most definitely come again, and recommend to others

Fantastic Site

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Pyesmead. The site itself is fairly level with plenty of space. We received a friendly welcome from the owners who advised us where the amenities are. It’s ideally located for exploring the New forest and local attractions. We also visited the south coast which is a short drive. We made use of the onsite indoor pool twice which had a good temperature and was very clean. We had a peaceful and relaxing break so thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely use this site again as it’s family friendly with so much on the doorstep.

Fantastic

Stayed early October weather not good but we had a great time. Very friendly owners, plenty of places to visit, lots of places to walk the dogs. And to add great pool very warm. Would recommend visiting, hoping to go back next year.

Loved the swimming pool.

Greeted on arrival but they went on holiday next morning. Son was very helpful, kittens were very entertaining, music in nearby field on Saturday night was enjoyable and not too loud. Was in the area for family wedding but will definitely use again.

Peaceful

Ah what a lovely few days we had. Very friendly people, loving working farm, gave you things to watch. Beautiful area so peaceful you could only hear the wildlife, or occasional sheep. Superb lake for fishing, caught plenty too. Short walk up lane and road to pub, 5 mins. Excellent food and people.

Pleasant Site

This is a pleasant site in a great location right next to a wonderful part of the New Forest. However, it is rather difficult to find and is not helped by the fact that there are no signs anywhere showing Caravan and Motorhome Club site. It is a lovely big field with plenty of room but it did not seem to have been mowed for quite some time and the grass was very very long. As the weather was very bad with torrential rain, every time you stepped outside you got soaking wet shoes and jeans! I did roll them up and wore walking boots all the time but it would certainly have been much better with shorter grass. There were no signs to show where the chemical waste was and had to ask someone who was fishing on the lake where it was. I only saw the owners when I knocked on their door to pay which is fine but it did feel like you just had to get on with it yourself.
