Welcoming and restful

Friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Large, sheltered pitches with flexible outfit positioning. Info shed with fridge containing jams and chutneys for sale (try the crab apple and chilli jam), various spare camping bits for the more forgetful and toys for kids. Also laminated walking maps for some lovely, accessible trails.Their website contains loads of local information including a good village pub only a couple of minutes walk. An ideal, restful spot with access to so many places to visit. Website has plenty of information with something for everyone. Tewkesbury (Abbey) and Evesham (river bank walks and meadows) only minutes away by car. Tips for other travellers As advised don’t follow satnav for final approach. Don’t be concerned. Recommended final route has only a short (<200m) narrow bit (more than adequate for widest unit) with clear visibility. Odds of meeting anyone on such a little used road negligible.

Rescued by Jackie

After arriving at a nearby site only to find an error in booking had given our spot to an alternate Mr Thomas, we were literally rescued by Jackie for this May Bank Holiday week in the Cotswolds. Fairplay to the owner of the other site for ringing around, but we are eternally grateful to both parties. We had a lovely week visiting all our favourite Cotswold villages. Evesham in particular became a favourite, with the local village of Ashton Under Hill being within walking distance and so picturesque with a visit to the local pub The Star a must.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY

I would rate this CL as if not the best, one of the best CLs we have ever stayed at, and we have been touring since 1980. The owners were very welcoming to the site and very helpful in supplying details of all the local amenities and things to do. The site itself is kept very clean and tidy and access to the water, electricity and waste disposal is good and very well maintained. The wild life one can see includes owls, pheasents and chicks, squirells deer all of which can be seen from the caravan. There is a local pub which provides excellent food, a take away service and a small shop providing essentials. There are many walks in the area and the roads are quiet for cycling, if on the other hand one wishes to remain in the caravan/motorhome and partake of a bottle of gin or two, the site is very tranquil.

Lovely site

We had a lovely pitch - number 1 and faced into what the owners called the Aldi Orchard. It was like a private back garden for us. We used the local buses and they were free so that was a bonus. The owners have a small shed with all sorts of bits inside- petanque, local walk maps and tourist information- we used all. The walk up Bredon Hill was stunning. We also took up the hosts suggestion of dining at The Star Inn and had a superb Sunday roast. All in all we had a great stay.

Great site

Covid safe all precautions met very well Hi what a lovely 6 nights spent here. Easy tow in, follow owners instructions though. Warm friendly welcome. Lovely walks from site and pub very close. Great for dog and walkers. Level grassy pitches but ground excellent despite deluge of rain. Thank you Rails end nursery.

Lovely site

Just back from 6 nights at Rails End. Beautiful site although unfortunately we had typical Bank Holiday weather! Hosts really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Very easy access from the M5 following the excellent directions sent. Hosts are very dog-savvy too, there is a great network of footpaths from the site including a nice field when you walk through the churchyard (public footpath). Nice pub within a few minutes walk too, what more could you ask. All in all a gem of a site, 4 stars for peace and tranquility because there is a very slight hum of traffic noise in the distance but certainly far enough away not to be any issue. I am sure we shall be back.

Lovely place to stay

We had a 1 night stay here and would definitely have liked to have stayed longer. Clear instructions were given to us by Jackie beforehand and she was a fantastic host on arrival. Such a peaceful place to stay, with lovely walks and cycle rides locally. It's well worth climbing up the slope behind the church in Ashton for the view. Apples from the trees on site were very tasty!

Wonderful site

Stayed here for 2 nights during the hot spell last week so pleased of the shade offered by the hedgerows :) Lovely warm welcome from Jackie on arrival and given choice of available pitches each having plenty of space between them. Members staying on site were really friendly, this being only our second trip away in our caravan and helpful advice offered ( we were very grateful for the heads up of the impending thunder / heavy rain which gave us time to get our sun awning down!) Electric Hook up on all pitches was a boon as was grey into hedgerow on our spot. Lots of local walks for us and the dog starting from the site, with the Star just up the road. Looking forward to returning to this gem of a site

Excellent CL site

We have just returned home after a 6 night at this site, it was excellent. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, it is a peaceful location, with well spaced out pitches. Walking from the site is very easy using the information and maps supplied by the owners and there are some fabulous walks in the area. There is a great pub, The Star just up the road, we had an excellent Sunday lunch there, there is also a small shop attached to the pub which was useful as we were happy not to have to drive anywhere. All in all a great little CL, looking forward to returning and exploring some more of the area.
