Such a friendly site

We have visited this site quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Roger and Sherrie are so welcoming and the tranquil atmosphere can not be rivallled, can't wait to come back.

A touch of heaven

Just returned for our 3rd stay this year (back next month). We are never disappointed with this CL site and we have used it for many years now. We can’t understand the previous comments regarding noise & unlevel ground, surly every caravanner has levelling blocks on board, and with regards to the road noise, well I guess you just can’t please some people. Despite the couple of negative reviews, this CL & the owners Roger & Sherrie are the absolute tops. So just hook up, head for the A21 & see for yourself.

A little gem, very special place

We have been visiting this site for quite a few years and it never fails to deliver.  It is so peaceful and relaxing.  The scenery is amazing- look out over an orchard and the surrounding area including Battle Abbey in the distance.  We love this place and wanted to keep  to ourselves but after some negative reviews felt we had to speak out.  Don't understand how you can complain, Roger and Sherrie are so helpful and friendly ( She even let's me help feed all the lovely amimals she has)  don't get us started on the lake and being able to sit in the summerhouse glass of wine at hand and watching the Deer in the ordchard!!!  Well done Rog and Sherrie you are the best.

CL ?

If you like sitting in laybys then this is the site for you the traffic is constant and loud supposed to be a B road more like an A road. They should also tell you about the need for levelling blocks on every pitch and for the 7 nights we were there up to 8 units most of the time. Apart from this had a good week weather made up for downsides!

confused!!

We have just spent 4 nights at this lovely CL site. What confused us that there was no mention about the very busy road, which is national speed limit, so the vehicles are travelling fast. There was no peace and tranquility. There was no mention that this is a sloping site so leveling blocks or ramps are required. Had we known this I would not have chosen it. More advanced information required. To end my review, the couple that run this site are very nice.

out of this world

Just returned after a week’s booking. As usual a warm welcome awaits you, this is about the best site we have stayed at, pop down & see for yourselves. Whilst you are there, don’t forget to take in the lakes at the bottom of the orchard. Bliss or what? Make it early evening, get comfy in the sun house (bottle of wine recommended) & take in the wild life. See if you don’t agree with me, Out of this world, most definitely it is. Back in a few weeks .

No Battle to stay here

This is going to be a short review because everything is spot on as in all reviews. If you want information just ask the owners they are full of knowledge or if you wish to find for yourself that is okay also. Easy bus service to Hastings, Bexhill,or Battle etc. If you turn left out of the site and follow road till you come to a roundabout pub straight ahead great value for money also if you want a great bakery the one on the lefthand side going to the abbey well recommended. Really sorry when we had to leave but will return.

Lovely Cl

Our first impressions of the site were very favourable, it is in a lovely position with great views over the orchard. We were a little worried after reading the previous reviews about road noise but this did not bother us at all as our pitch was overlooking the orchard and away from the road. The shop is a bonus as is the farm shop next door that in addition to keeping a wide range of goods also does excellent lunches and afternoon teas. The toilet and shower facilities are kept clean and well stocked. Enjoyed the area never been here before and thought that Battle was a lovely little town, walked to it using the 1066 footpath which was easy to find. Our only gripe was that apparently there had been a mix up with bookings so there was far in excess of the five vans that we were expecting, throughout our stay .

excellent as usual

Great to be back this year, a good CL and always a warm welcome. This is our best CL ever, & we have visited a few in the last 35 years. Going back in a few weeks & hopefully after that we can book a weekend or two.

Lovely CL

We have just spent 9 nights at Redcoats and thoroughly enjoyed it. The CL has beautiful views over the Orchard and beyond. The owners are welcoming and friendly; the facilities well kept and clean, including a good shower with plenty of hot water. Chickens, geese, ducks, doves, pigs and peacocks abound! It is well placed for visiting many interesting places. The farm shop is useful as is the nearby farm shop further along the road that also sells bread. The only draw back in our opinion is road noise. The CL backs on to a small but very busy road especially at peak times, rather annoying early in the morning (from 6 am)!
