Potentially good site

First the positives:

Each pitch has it's own services, electric & drinking water, although water pressure is low so takes an age to manually fill an aquaroll. The site was very peaceful & quiet. Good walks nearby & near to Penryn & Falmouth.

Negatives:

The owners had no record of our booking (booked more than 1 month in advance) despite having cashed our deposit cheque & we had email communication with them. This meant they were overbooked and over the 5 van rule at the weekend. We had made a very long journey to the site, to arrive & be informed they had no booking was poor. The grass was left particularly long and generally left us feeling that the site wasn't well cared for or maintained. The toilet disposal empty point was dire. A dustbin lid covered the opening over direct access to an open cesspit with no water trap to prevent smells or flies. A very short hose had been supplied for swilling/rinsing your loo which was totally inadequate for an easy rinse. We have caravanned for some 30 years now, this rates as one of the worst emptying points we have experienced. Various people come & go on the site day & night (other than the owners). One chap came most days parking his van whilst he walked his dog. He parked every day very close to our caravan. Others parked across the only entrance blocking access on or off the site some evenings, we're not sure where they were visiting but not the CL. Overall, we would not return unless improvements were made on the chemical waste point and maybe gated access to prevent unwanted 'visitors'. A shame really as it could be a very nice site.
