Perfect CL site

Lovely welcome from the owner, a basic site set in a beautiful area with plenty of walking and cycling routes. Highly recommended.

Peace

Just enjoyed a few days at Rhedynog Felen Fawr we got a lovey welcome from Esther the owner and enjoyed every minute of our stay with peace and quiet all around us. The dogs loved walking in the surrounding villages and lots of running on the near beaches, a great break away, we will be back.

Excellent CL in a great location

We had a lovely week at this peaceful and perfectly presented CL with our two young children and our dog. The owners were friendly, welcoming and very helpful and the views from the site were stunning, especially at sunset. We will be back to spend more time in this great location soon!

Our favourite CL.

Martin and I have been to this site for many years and always enjoy our time here. Esther and Emyr are warm and friendly and always so helpful. They provide a helpful information sheet on arrival detailing local attractions etc. The site is located off a very quite country road with scenic views down to the coast and the Isle of Anglesey. The site pitches are very well spaced out on a well maintained quite field. Great not having to faff at getting the unit next to a peg and when you think you have done a great job some smart-alec in a high vis jacket tells you to move it over 2 inches. With the new bypass the site is only a short drive to many attractions.

Little things disappointed

We were slightly disappointed with this site as it says level field however we had to use our large ramps each night to get our van anywhere near level, the other pet hate we have is when grass is cut and not picked up as it is a nightmare in a small motorhome as it gets everywhere, also we found the chemical disposal point very basic and avoided using it. The plus side is the views are amazing, the owner is very friendly and there are some very nice walks, one just across the lane from the campsite that goes into Caernarfon. The reason I won't be returning is the grass cuttings.

Room with a view (weather dependant)

An immaculately turned out site with five well defined pitches all facing Anglesey with enough room to orientate your unit for your best view. Welcomed on arrival by Esther who gave us all the necessary information regarding fresh water, black waste and recycling but more importantly she provided us with a handy map detailing three walks of varying lengths. We walked in to Caernarfon alongside the railway only to find you had to book to get in the castle (a sign of the times). Our second walk taking in the Air Museum and beach was more successful. We stayed three days and would return.

One of our favourites CLs in Wales

If what you are looking for is peace and quiet, wonderful views and sunsets then this is the site for you. We spent a week here without moving our motorhome, relying on our bikes and the excellent public transport to get around. You can cycle in to Caernarfon on the Lon Eifion cycle path or on the nice quiet scenic route around Y Foryd bay which is a nature reserve which is what we did - don't miss beautiful St Baglan's church on the way. It's an easy cycle ride to Glynllifon estate to see the arboretum and enjoy visiting the cafe, and to Dinas Dinlle where there is an Air Museum, Caernarfon airport, beach and a walk to Fort Belan at low tide. The bus stops are at the end of the lane. We caught the bus to Portmeirion and to the Nantlle valley to see the old Dorothea quarries and the beautiful scenery. Pant ddu vineyard has a good cafe/restaurant which made a good stop before catching the bus back. There is plenty of good walking in the area and with a bit of forward planning its possible to get to the Snowdonia national park on the Sherpa bus which leaves from Caernarfon - this site is a good option if you want to avoid the busy sites within the park. We will have to go back to explore the area as there is so much to see and do. A week wasn't long enough . Diolch yn fawr iawn Esther and Emyr

Lovely site!

We stayed here for 3 nights. We were both hoping to rid ourselves of memories of rainy family holidays in North Wales! We arrived in pouring rain but the next day was bright and clear and yes, we could see the wonderful view over the Menai Strait. We received a very warm welcome from the owner who talked to us about local walks. We decided to do the circular walk past the airport and along the beach which was really lovely and we stopped at the airport cafe for refreshments and watched the planes and helicopters landing and taking off. Sunset over the water beautiful. Lovely area and can highly recommend. Just be aware the lane down to the site is narrow with high hedges on each side so quite tricky, fortunately we didn’t meet anyone coming down! The turn into the site is quite tight but we managed in our 7 m motor home.

Fantastic site

We absolutely loved this site. Initially we were a little surprised by the narrow access road but soon got used to it and it helped to make it such a peaceful site. Fantastic views & sunsets most nights looking over the Menai Straits towards Anglessey. The owners were very friendly & helpful. Although this site doesn't have electric hook up we managed well for a weeks stay - especially now we have a 12v tv. We will definitely be back to discover more of this area because there is just so much to do that we ran out of time and I found the area more beautiful than Cornwall. So many different & beautiful beaches on the Lyn peninsula.
