Just returned from pre Christmas break at Rockingham. Access is easy enough through a coded gate which is mailed to you prior to arrival. Booking was simple via their website, select the pitch, the dates and pay. All automated, e-mail reply confirming booking and providing arrival information. All hard standing with own EHU, all front pitches have fantastic views over the valley so why pick the back pitches next to the road? We picked pitch 5 which is tucked away in the corner and needs a long electric cable to reach round to pitch 4 for power. Has its own water and drain. Site is level hard stands and the field in front of you falls away into the valley so there are no obstructions to your views. There are Kites around which regularly fly up to the site. There are a couple of pubs in the village we only tried the Royal George which was great. East Carlton Countryside Park is close by, free parking and good place for a quick circular walk. Easy to reach Stamford for shopping and Rutland Water is only 20 minutes away.
