Ease of arrival/welcome

Not great!

The entrance to this site is awkward; whilst the gate is wide enough, there is a wooden post placed about a foot inside of the gate, making the space smaller and awkward. I got in ok, but had to shunt backwards and forwards several times to get out, despite having only an average-sized caravan. The approach road is also narrow, without room for two cars to pass in places, which is concerning. The wifi just about works if you stand up by the house, but is non-existent on the caravan field, and TV reception is very poor. For a basic site with only the most basic facilities, we felt this was expensive at £15 a night. But by far my biggest grievance was being attacked by the aggressive cockerel - which drew blood on both my husband and I - and made me fearful of venturing outside of the caravan. There is a fence which the foul are supposed to be contained behind, but this had gaps and holes so they were not contained at all. The hens worried us all weekend for food too. As the owners left and went away on the day we arrived, we were not able to bring this to their attention. My experience of this site made me wonder whether to trust going to CLs again or to stick to main club sites, which is a shame. I don't recommend this site and won't be returning.
