Luvly Site

What a luvly site this is, out in the country, quiet, peaceful, owners nice and friendly. Yes the drive is a bit rough & can be busy, but what do people expect it's a farm!. & it's only a tenner a night. We are about to partake on our 3rd visit next week with many more planned over the years (we hope) as for the moaners?, more room for us!.

Peaceful and beautiful

What a lovely site - nice welcome from Mrs Simkins and her grandson - friendly and helpful. The field is flat with an area of hardstanding running down the centre, which we used as the ground was still a bit soft after the winter. Facilities by the gate. Very easy to find, lovely local walks, quiet and peaceful. I can't understand the fuss by previous reviewers - yes, there's a long bumpy track running off the main road down to the farm where the site is. Not the slightest problem if you take it slowly - you're in the countryside, enjoy it !!

Dissapointing

My wife and I have visited this site several times in the past but this will be our last. The site is VERY unkempt with the grass nearing my knees! The waste water facility in particular is a mess. There is a long and EXTREMELY rough drive to it. I had to go searching for the owner who was quite gruff. As there are very few sites in the area we may have to go to a private site next tem we come to this area.

Avoid

It's a long and very rough road with rude horse riders !! The field had very long grass only one water tap and it felt like you was being watch all the time cause the old lady's house is right next to you !!! The amount a vehicle going past from very early in the morning is very annoying !, we felt uncomfortable to say the least and left early !

4 Nights in September 2015

An excellent site with plenty of room and good facilities.  A couple of nice walks can be taken from the site into Shillington or the surrounding area.

perfect

stayed for one night on a Saturday. Four units there with plenty of space. beautifully kept grass, sheltered on three sides by trees and the other side is a horse field with trees the other side. lovely spot all round. bit of a downer was the party which I assume was in Shillington and the music across the fields but hardly the fault of Mrs Simkins. I see what is meant about the road but keep to the 10mph and watch where you go and we had no issues in our motorhome.

A very pleasant site

We visited this very pleasant CL during the Whit Bank Holiday 2015. We were met on arrival by Mrs Simkins, a very nice lady who was most welcoming. The pitches were spacious and all had electricity. The only other neighbours were the birds and horses in the adjacent fields. We agree will the other members reviews regarding the approach road. However, this did slow down the other traffic that accesses the farm and riding stables

A Favourite CL

We've stayed at Rosehill Cottage CL several times now, most recently last week. It's a beautiful, quiet, flat site, surrounded by fields (with horses). It's ideal for us for visiting family in the area. The welcome from is friendly and helpful. True there is an unmetalled private road to the site. After several visits I find that it's not a problem within the clearly signed 10 mph limit.

Lovely site, shame about the access road!

Beautiful site on a working farm/stables. Nicely groomed level pitches with only horses and birds for company. However, the track leading up to the site is full of potholes, some very deep. Deep enough to smash the casing on a motor mover as I found to my cost when the potholes were all full of rainwater and you couldn't spot the deep ones. Avoiding all the potholes is impossible. I shall not be going back until the road is repaired to a better standard.
