Disappointing for a new cl. Needs some work

This is a new cl and unfortunately needs some TLC. to make it an attractive go to site. The road in is narrow but manageable but the entrance to the field is not well signed. The first 'Rovendine' sign you see is the house name plate along with two others on a shared drive. Attached to a fence is an arrow pointing to the cl entrance. This is so faded that you need to get out of the car and go and have a look for the way in which is a few more yards further along but the CL sign is on the gate after turning in from the lane so care is needed not to over shoot. The entrance is very tight and our outfit of 11 metres came up against the bushes. Once through the gate the drive way down into the field is not very welcoming with a rough rutted surface and lopped branches lining the way then passed a very large old bonfire heap and pile of scrap metal.. Once into the field the slope is noticeably steep and at the time of our visit the coarse meadow grass hadn't been cut for some time resulting in wet trouser bottoms after rain. The pitches are numbered and well spaced out with their own ehu and water point. The biggest asset and draw to this site is the view from the field looking downhill out over meadows to the town of Rye in the distance with the English Channel beyond. This took away thoughts of what was behind you. Although not far from the main road there was no road noise and you could turn left or right here to two very nice pubs. You could walk downhill by road into Rye or use a public footpath over the fields. A much nicer option. Beware walking back up the road on return; it's a long hard pull. There are buses but there is no service on Sundays. I spoke to the owner about the rutted surface as I was worried it could catch the motor mover and to be fair he did rake it level the day we left. The saving grace for this site at present is the view, it was stunning
