A Pleasing Short Stay

Having just returned from a short stay at Salterford Dam I have to say that I may have found my new favourite quiet and relaxing site. Despite being beside a minor road the occasional noise isn't obtrusive and just mingles into the sounds of the birds and nature. It's a pretty little site, fairly level grass pitches which had been recently mown, with all the facilities that you need. The showers & toilets are basic but more than adequate with a lovely powerful shower and contrary to previous reviews toilet rolls were provided, maybe I just got lucky. There is a walk around the lake onsite, and the chance for fishing although not being an angler I'm not 100% sure about this. I took a walk to find a pub only 35 minutes away along a quiet pleasant local footpath through fields and woodlands. I'm not sure where the negative reviews came from but they certainly didn't accurately describe the campsite that I stayed at, the bins, water and chemical waste were easily located and tidy. Payment is required upfront and contact with the owner was via messaging/emails with the gate code sent to you prior to arrival. Personally I like this hassle free type of arrival where you just turn up and pitch, yet I never felt I couldn't contact the owner if I had had any problems, maybe time will tell on that one as I certainly plan to return to this CL site in the future, hopefully for a much longer stay too.
