Pleasant little site

Stayed 2 nights on this pleasant little site. The owner was out when I arrived (it was a Sunday) but had clearly marked my pitch with a signpost & greeted me warmly as soon as she returned home. I was the only motorhome on the site. I had EHU on my pitch; the water is not far away & OK if you have a long hosepipe - if there were other MHs there you might not get too close. The toilets & showers were clean but fairly basic & unheated, so a bit chilly. I could hear traffic from the road but it wasn't overwhelming. Otherwise, lots of lovely birdsong & peaceful. The only down side was that the prices had gone up & were more than advertised on the club website. Best to check when you book if it matters to you. Payment was by cash or cheque on site. Very handy for access to Spurn Point.

Thank you for helping us out

What a lovely site. Peaceful enough to have roe deer on the grounds. We needed somewhere last minute near Hull and the owner very kindly trusted us to stay whilst incapacitated. We are very great full and would love to visit again. Access to Spurn point is fantastic and there are lots of local walks.

Well maintained, flat site

Just spent 4 nights here. Friendly welcome from the owners. Access is easy - off the road into Easington. However the site is alongside the road so there is some traffic noise at going & returning from work times - but not excessive and quiet the rest of the time - especially at night. Grass is well cut and clippings collected. Pitches are hard standing with grass next to them for your awning. We are in a motorhome, but I think cars for caravans are parket on a separate piece of gravel - not next to pitch. Showers/toilets were very clean, and cleaned regularly while we were there, although we didnt use them. Very useful deep outside sink - good for washing coffee pots! Grey water goes into hedges - Mr St Quinton will assist with pipes if necessary. One criticism - some of the labels on taps etc have become faded and could do with renewing. We would have no hesitation in using the site again, if in the area.

Lovely site

Lovely site, very well maintained, really friendly owners. The reason I've given it only 4 stars, is for me, there was too much traffic noise, although it did stop in the evening and was not in the night, it was all day long. I admit I'm not used to traffic, therefore most people wouldn't find it problem.

We wanted a nice quite place and beach and we sure got it . We really enjoyed our time here and are defiantly likely to return. HAPPY, CLEAN , PEACEFUL CAMPSITE , thank you

Welcoming Site

Stayed for a week mid July, the site is very well cared for and the owners very welcoming. The village just a short walk away has two good pubs both of which are dog friendly. We enjoyed walks on the beach and along by the Humber, also at Withernsea which is just a short drive away.

A top end C.L.

We spent three nights here the first week in July to visit Spurn Point and the new Discovery Centre. A price of £16-00 is what we consider to be very top end for a C.L. but this site justifies its price with ease. The facilities are comparable to most commercial sites and not far short of Club Sites. The grass is beautifully maintained and the ease of access and welcome by the owner are other strong points. The site is close to the terminal of the Langeled Gas pipeline, which is protected like Fort Knox and explains the presence of so many MOD police patrols, but this is not obtrusive. We booked a Spurn Point Unimog Safari which was excellent and good value for money. We have been going to visit Spurn now for about 20 years and this first visit was greatly enhanced by this high quality C.L..

Very friendly and quiet site

Such a friendly and welcoming site. Unfortunately as soon as I arrived on site I became very poorly. The owner checked in with my hubby a couple of times a day and his wife bought some meds to help me. Such a lovely site hubby said lol - I didn't get to see it but hubby said it was brilliant. Quiet and near the coast xx

We will definitely be returning

We have just returned from a 3 night stay. Lovely clean site, the owners are very welcoming. There are 2 fields both taking up to 5 vans/motorhomes on each, there was just us and 3 others on ours. the site grounds are very well looked after, we will definitely return to this site ..... spurn point is a little over 5 mins drive away, withernsea is about 15 mins drive. There are a couple of pubs, however, I can’t comment on those as we didn’t use them, there are plenty of walks, just ask the owners and they will give you the run down. You have to be off site for 12, however, if no one is following you can stay as long as you like just paying a £1 for every hour ur there ..... I was more than happy with that meant we didn’t have to rush. Thank you xx

Winter at Sandalwood

We booked two nights at Sandalwood as it was close to the beach and our collie loves a good run on the beach. We arrived on a wet afternoon and there was a board next to the pitch with our name on it. The grounds looked neat and tidy but after pitching up we had to move the van after a few hours as the grass turned to mud. The showers and toilets were clean, tidy and warm considering it was freezing outside. There was a little bit of road noise but not as much as to keep you awake at night. The owners are very welcoming and full of information about the local area. We had a nice walk on the beach next day which is about ten minute walk through the village and there are plenty of other walks around. The pub closest to the site has a dog friendly area which is handy for a wee dram after a bracing walk on the beach. The only gripe we had with the site is that the pitches were a very odd shape and could do with being a bit larger and having more gravel to try and deal with the mud in inclement weather. Would be a lovely site in nice weather and we hope to get back in the summer.
