Could do with some minor improvements

Booked this CL with some trepidation after reading the reviews.  However, as the only CL in the area and wanting to cycle to nearby Spofforth cycleway we booked.   After arriving in a thunderstorm, we found the site quite easily (it's located a couple of miles straight off the A1).   Yes, the signage could be better showing the way to the site but once we found the pitching area we were fairly pleased.    The ground is hard as it has mesh underneath, covered with stones and then laid to grass so drainage was good.   The site is L shaped and with plenty of electric points.  Surrounded by trees the site has enough space for the five pitches without being too close.  The water, waste, elsan and bins were easy to find, although not in the pitching area.     We found the site to be a little sun trap, with very little noise.   Yes, there was some machinery and abandoned vehicles, but these were not in view and did not affect us at all.    The owner, Mrs Rooke called round in the morning to check all was well and we were able to pay her.   Nearby is Walton village with a pub and also in the shopping centre behind the site, is a small garden centre and a cafe with a good variety of food.    We cycled to Spofforth and return and called at Wetherby a very pleasant market town with lots of shops and eating places.     Nearby also is Boston Spa which has a lovely riverside walk and more shops and cafes.    We will be returning - hopefully in better weather.
