Ease of arrival/welcome

From the partner of a wheelchair users perspective

Arrived early afternoon, found a pitch and set up. No problem, the pitch we chose was flat in both directions. Had a quick reccee to the pub and the first problem.......it's upstairs. No disabled access. My wife could not get up. And if she did the toilets were downstairs. Went out in the evening to another pub with access. Off to the Leggers fo a solo nightcap and well impressed with the selection of ales and the warmth of the welcome. Next day walked to the station .Got halfway there (ASDA B&Q) and realised that the hill we had to climb would probably be more than a match for my wheelchair pushing ability. Just made it, red of pace and panting like a ......Had to sit for 5 mins before crossing the road to the station. Went into Leeds for the day. All rail staff and passengers very helpful with the chair. Never saw anyone from the site, but as we had paid in advance it was not an issue. Look forward to going back in the summer.
