Memories

After 13 years of annual visits to this site we have, unfortunately, decided our caravanning days are over. We would like to thank Sandra and family for always giving us a great welcome and for making our visits such a pleasure. The site has always been a very good location for visiting all the places of interest in Hampshire and Dorset and to cut down on the driving we have always taken advantage of the very good bus services. We have made very good friends over the years as many fellow caravanners come back year after year to Scarthingmore and we will be thinking of them frequently. Although we no longer have the caravan this is not 'goodbye' as we hope to be able to pop in when passing.

Great Site.

We enjoyed a lovely 2 week break here. Sandra welcomed us warmly on arrival and offered us the choice of the available and well spaced pitches. The site is well kept and the showers and toilets are immaculate. Lots to see and do in the area , but the site is also the ideal place to sit and relax in the sunshine. Thank you Sandra - if we visit the area again we will be booking a pitch.

Wonderful CL site

We had the most wonderful holiday at this site, plenty to do locally and a couple of nice pubs within walking distance, a Beefeater and a two for one (The Woodman) both serving good food and ale. If you want to go further afield use the excellent bus service to Bournemouth, Poole, Lymington and many more all worth visiting. The site does have some road noise but not that it will keep you awake (Unless you are a really light sleeper). If you take the car into Ferndown you are allowed to leave your car in the Tesco car park all day with no charge, and a lot of nice little shops there. If you want a Chinese try the Chef de China, Ferndown Forest Golf Club, the best Chinese we have had by far. The hosts at this site are so welcoming and helpful, it is like being on someone's front lawn and the shower and toilet block are immaculate. We have no problem in giving this site 10 out of 10.

Definitely Not a Peaceful Site

The site is large, mown regularly, with plenty of room between the caravans. The site security is good but this site is very noisy. The road noise from the A31 can be heard continually at any time of the day or night. Boundary road is also very busy and appears to be used as a rat run for commuter traffic. The facilities are beyond the house and quite a walk from the first pitch by the gates but they were clean and serviced regularly. The welcome in our experience was abrupt not friendly and this continued throughout our two week stay. If you expect peaceful to mean peaceful this is not the site for you.

Great CL

This was our first visit to this great CL, we was greated with a warm welcome on arrival and everything explained about the site. The family cannot do enough to make sure your holiday goes without a hitch. The surrounding area is full of delightful surprises. Looking forward to a return visit next year. This is a safe and secure site that is a credit to the owners Allan & Dawn

Eight years of tranquility

We have been coming to Scarthingmore for eight years and have really enjoyed the location, the security and facilities. Of course all this has been helped by the welcome that we always get from Sandra and her family. It does have some noise from the road and from the local 'rooster' but somehow we have never found this a distraction. The fact that this recent stay was our sixteenth seems to say it all. This time, however, our car decided to play up and after hiring one for the remainder of our stay we had to request the help of Green Flag to rescue us on the day of departure. Sandra was so helpful when the huge vehicle arrived at the 'back gate' in error and allowed it onto the site to load the car and caravan to take us home. Thank you Sandra you're a gem.

Nice secure site

This site was quite nice everything you needed was there. Security of the site was very good. Close to the new forest and Ringwood which I love. Our stay was spoilt by an obnoxious man by the name of andy with 2 whippets. He had a go at my husband for walking past his caravan to put rubbish in the bin because his unsocialised dogs barked. He was very rude about us being new to caravanning although we are seasoned Motorhomers. This spoilt the holiday
