Lovely site and very welcoming

Small site in the middle of fields. A few pitches are on a slope so require levelling blocks (plenty available). Clean and tidy site. We were there during harvesting so quite busy but interesting to watch. Nice walk to the local pub where they serve decent food. We had a very pleasant stay visiting local towns and Rutland water. It’s a very new site and well maintained. Thank you Hilary for your wonderful hospitality.

Very Rural

Site well situated for those who seek out some peace and quiet in a very rural setting. Well appointed with basic amenities but would suggest you need a few spacer blocks when levelling up

Welcoming, relaxing, peaceful campsite

Lovely CL site with EHU, Elson point and water The owner Hiliary is so welcoming and ensures that her customers are well looked after. The pitches are generous with glorious views. The site is in Konssington which is a picturesque Village with a great pub ( Fox and Hounds ) that serves delicious food which is less than a 10 minute walk from the site. The nearby village of Somerby which is beautiful and also has a pub that serves food. The Market town of Oakham is less than 5 miles and we cycled each way .Oakham has many independent shops and numerous good quality places to eat. We stayed for 3 nights and can't wait to go back for a longer stay .

Perfect Rutland area retreat

You won't be disappointed staying here, Knossington village is one of many pretty villages in this area, and we were made very welcome, even when we came last in the pub quiz! This site has peace and tranquility by the shed load, we watched the Swallows swooping over the field all week and the area has lots of cycling and walking for everyone. We cycled to Rutland Water from the site but exploring the other direction, we found windmills and beautiful countryside, including the Harringworth viaduct...well worth a trip. There is an open air swimming pool you can hire in the village too which is glorious. Thank you to our wonderful host Hilary, whose hard work makes site a real treat.

Peaceful idyllic setting.

We recently enjoyed a two night start here with our two dogs. The setting is so relaxing and beautiful. Plenty of rolling countryside and footpaths. A short walk up to the quaint village of Knossington which boasts a very friendly pub serving amazing food. There is also a garden centre and farm shop approx 1.25 miles away which is well worth a visit. The site is really well kept and has good EHU points, water access and chemical waste disposal etc.

Another relaxing weekend!

This was our second visit to this site and we were not disappointed for our first trip following coming out of lockdown. We spent a lovely, peaceful weekend walking in beautiful countryside and generally relaxing, the ideal way to celebrate being able to go out in our motorhome. We can highly recommend this friendly site. Thank you Mr and Mrs Gibson.

Relaxing weekend

This is a beautiful place in which to spend a relaxing weekend. The site is so peaceful, surrounded by fields with only a herd of inquisitive cows and wildlife for company, absolute bliss. The footpaths are well marked, although not that well used so occasionally sturdy clothing is required. We spent some time watching the birds of which there were many varieties. We also noticed that the local bus passes the end of the driveway. It goes both ways at least twice a day on Saturday and as the village of Knossington is only just down the road would be handy to catch for travelling further afield. Thank you Mr and Mrs Gibson for an amazing weekend!

Perfect bank holiday weekend

I can't believe that no one has posted a review before. This is a real nice off the grid site with open views of the countryside. The entrance could be a hit tight if coming from the north but from the knossington end it was fine. The grass was well cut and the site does slope but we didn't need any levelling blocks. The only downside is there is no tap to flush out the chemical waste. The is a purpose built disposal point but no tap. Could also do with a bin on site too although we did dispose of waste at the farmhouse. Will definitely be coming back. We walked all weekend from the campsite and didn't need the car. Very nice pub in knossington.
