Ease of arrival/welcome

Cycling, Geocaching, Peace and Quiet.

I stayed for 5 nights at this very peaceful CL during August 2021 in a large 8.5 metre motorhome. Access to the site is nice and easy up a lovely tree lined drive with an electric gate at the top for added security. When I arrived there was only one other unit on site (coincidentally I knew the couple!). I chose pitch 1 which was wide enough and long enough for my motorhome and very level. Not sure I would want to be on either pitches 4 or 5 as they are quite a bit smaller and on a slope. Nicely sheltered from the wind by the hedge, there is plenty of space either side of the pitches for tables, chairs, awnings etc. The site is clean and tidy with well cut grass. I received a warm welcome from the owner, Michael, who told me of some local eateries, walks and cycle routes. I cycled, (and geocached) for miles every day, through quiet country lanes and quaint villages. A very quiet site, no road noise, just the occasional plane going over, but I barely noticed them. I happily whiled away an hour or two, sat in the sun watching Kites and Buzzards soaring overhead and Partridges trotting through the site. I had a lovely evening meal at the nearby Axe and Compass pub (not dog friendly inside unfortunately) but plenty of outdoor seating, much of it covered, where dogs can probably go. I didn’t use any of the on-site facilities such as the kitchen or loo, so can’t comment on those, it’s a shame the wifi can’t be extended for use on the pitches and not just the kitchen area. At £20 per night, it is more than I would usually pay, and I would expect more facilities for that price (wifi at the pitches, shower/toilet block), but the location and tranquility was worth it for me. I would definitely revisit Severals CL and recommend it for a quite stay.
