Highly Recommended

I spent one night on this beautiful site. Pitches were very large on well kept grass. The view was beautiful. Although you can’t see it from the site the road can be heard but is not at all intrusive. It is still a very peaceful site. Lyme Regis was a 15 minute drive away and Tesco is about 5 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully for longer next time.

Great Location

Shamwari, an easy to get to CL with no narrow lanes to go down. Grass pitches are spacious, well drained and regularly cut, with a separate dog walking area and recycling facilities on site. Campsite is Immaculately set out and feels very secure. Countryside views and sunsets are breathtaking. The newly installed electric coin boxes are easy to access and use taking £1/£2 coins. We only spent between £1.50- £2 daily which was very good value as pitch fees were set at £16 for a unit with two adults. Carol and Martin are great hosts, helpful and welcoming to everyone. Shamwari is in a great location to visit the Jurassic Coastline/South West Coast Path of nearby Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Axemouth, Seaton, Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth. We’ll be back 😃

Peaceful with lovely views

Well kept site, Owners very friendly and knowledgeable. Site is very peaceful and each pitch has views across the valley. There is a lovely dog walk around the field in front of the caravans, which anyone can use (we don't have a dog) and it is good to see all the wild flowers and new trees that have been planted in this area. The site in itself is very secure, you have to go past the owners bungalow and through some gates. Access from / to the main road is fine and Carole does assist if required. There are lots of walks in the area and from the site,so very conveniently placed. Had a lovely stay and will go again.

A very pleasant stay here

Having moved from another area in Devon to this CL, Carole was great in accommodating us with a last minute pitch on this very pleasant CL. We stayed here for 3 nights in total - on arrival our name was on our pitch so that we knew where to put the van, the pitches are fairly level and well spaced out - you are not allowed to put down ground sheets or breathable carpets here. There are no facilities here (not a problem for us!) and it is Adults Only. The views across the panorama in the evening were absolutely lovely. Lovely dog walk in the paddock next to the pitch field. There is road noise during the day, but this dies down at night and we did not find it a problem. We did find access a little awkward on this busy road, but Carole very kindly donned a high vis jacket and aided us on the way out. It is a shame that its not practical to walk anywhere from the site, but also very obvious that the owners take a lot of time and trouble with the upkeep of this CL. Many thanks to Carole for accommodating us at such short notice!

Perfect!

We had a lovely stay here! Carole was very welcoming. The site was a great size. Access was fine in our 8m van. Facilities were all good. Views great. A lovely relaxing, safe and peaceful stay. The area was great, with a fantastic park and ride just up the road. Thank you. We hope to stay again one day.

Fantastic Site

We spent 3 nights here and will return as such a beautiful site, with lovely hosts. Grass with lots of space between units, fabulous view and easy access from main routes. You can park your van or motorhome in any orientation on your pitch - came as bit of a surprise as newbies that not all sites allow this. The dog walk is large and clean, Ruby enjoyed herself as well. Lovely friendly owners who couldn’t do enough for us - folder with local info given us on arrival, even stopped the traffic so so that a caravanning newbies like us could pull out easily when we left! Couldn’t ask for more. Fay & Ian
