A lovely hideaway

We stayed here last weekend, having been a couple of times before. I'm happy to say that it is still a lovely, peaceful site, with excellent views and walks around the farm. The owners are very friendly and they sell lovely organic meat in their shop. Sheep Meadow is within minutes of Leiston and Saxmumndham and a short drive to Aldeburgh and Southwold. Highly recommended!

Summer break

The site is well kept, grass cut and collected.the shower block consists of 1 private toilet and one room with 2 toilets and 1 shower, however the shower has only a curtain across so you have to lock the main door.toilets and shower were clean but found the sinks were grimy,so only washed our hands in them.the owner's were very friendly and didn't rush to collect the money.we picked the site as we wanted to use the local buses , found they are more than a mile away and very infrequent so had to use our car instead.

Wonderful break

This site is all that we look for when getting away. The White family welcomed us as if we were "Whites." As a towny I was overawed by the beauty of the herds of red organically reared South Devon cows . [But pretty as they are I would still recommend the steaks and burgers available from the farm shop.] Mr. White Sr. works through the day closely accompanied by two goats! [Gerry and Margo] who are kept in line by the dignified, aged farm collie Forest. This quartet delighted my grandsons no end and they could not believe it when Mr. White introduced them to his enormous pig which squeals with delight when called to eat the scraps of food that caravan club members save for her. A wonderful site that is a credit to the Caravan Club.

Very nice CL site

We didn't experience any if the issues mentioned by a previous reviewer.  This is a nice CL and we would certainly use it again.

Second time around

Visited last weekend from the second time. We were concerned after reading the previous review but experienced none of the issues mentioned. The CL was fully occupied and there is a separate field near the farmhouse but we had no idea how many vans were on there as we saw nothing of the other guests. The Barn was used for a wedding reception on Saturday so we had a bonus of seeing the the bridal party and guests when they arrived. Music until midnight - it was loud but not a problem for us and ended bang on time with no noise as the guests left. They had hired in their own posh loos so no impact on the CL facilities. We will be back

Nice CL, but...........not a 5 Van site

We have just spent a week here.  If I was to rate the site as just the CL field it would be good. It has pleasant views, friendly owners and plenty of space.  The road behind was quite noisy at times.  My main annoyance of the site was the fact that the site has three more fields for caravans and tents, which all use the sites facilities (1 shower and 2 toilets).  When we were there the CL was full (5 vans), another field behind the farmhouse had 6 vans/motorhomes, another field next to the farmhouse has a caravan and motorhome and the field above the CL had three caravans and two tents.  There was a constant queue for the facilities, at one point, people were turning up in their cars to use them.  None of this is mentioned in the site description, so if you are looking for a true 5 van site, then avoid it.  If you dont mind queing for the facilities and having people constantly banging and kicking the door when you are using them, then go for it.  Unfortunately, we would not visit again.

Excellent

We spent 10 nights on this site over Easter and enjoyed every minute of it. Its a great area with the coast only a short drive away. The farm is great, we met Gerry and Margo the family goats which followed the farmer everywhere, quite amusing! We bought meat from the farm shop which was wonderful, as well as local honey and apple juice. Its great to be able to buy local produce and steer clear of the supermarket where possible. Will defo have a return visit. Lucy Tony Charlie & George

Great place

Just stayed here for almost a week, our first time here but we will definitely be returning.  It's a lovely place, not far from minsmere, sizewell, Leiston so good base.  The owners are really nice, and there's some good paths to follow across the fields.  Look out for the brown and white goat he likes to eat books.

Pleasant Stay

We spent 8 nights on this delightful site run by a charming couple. Where else would you see steam engines going along the drive and enjoy music from a barn dance on a Saturday night ? Set within a working farm with views across the fields and within easy reach of the Suffolk beauty spots we will certainly return when in Suffolk again ! The steak is also superb !

A nice quiet site

Stayed for 3 nights on the overspill site near the house, solid fairly level field with water and primitive hookup. We were the only ones on this field, which we were told we would be on when we booked, field of cows next door, no probs, but there were thousands of flies everywhere, I've never seen so many, my motorhome was covered in fly s**t when we arrived home, took a good wash to clean it. Very good access to places of interest and lovely quiet minor roads for cycling as well, we will return at some point.
