A great site

What a lovely little site, nice and level with all the faclities one needs on a CL. We stayed for three nights at the beginning of July on our way north. Very convenient for Nottingham and nearby there are some great villages. It is secure and has great views. .

Well kept oasis

Just had 4 nights on this Gem of a CL site. A very well kept site loads of room, water, waste and electric on every pitch all level and if your a fisherman great fishing. Easy access electric gates. Very good walks direct from site for you and your four legged friend. Each direction has a pub within easy reach both worth a visit. Well worth a visit. We will defiantly be back.

Tranquil site. Great fishing.

Stayed here a couple of times now, last one a couple of weeks ago. Very secure site accessed by a private lane controlled by electric gates. Plenty of room and level site with lovely kept grass. I enjoy fishing and it is excellent here with easy access to level platforms. Nice to walk around the lakes in the evenings. Couple of good pubs within walking distance and also visited a really good Chinese restaurant a couple of miles away called Springwater which had lovely food at reasonable prices. TV reception was good if that's important. Overall a lovely, peaceful site that I recommend even if you don't fish.

shelt Hill

Visited the site in April 19. It's a fairly new site and for 3 night stay we were the only van on the site. it's only about 10 minutes walk into Woodborough, which has a couple of pubs (dogs allowed in the bar at the Nags Head, which also does food) and a local shop. We were visiting relatives so didn't go sightseeing, but Nottingham, Rufford Abbey etc are all within easy distance, and there's a nice public footpath that runs past the entrance for walking the dog. The Site was clean and well mown when we were there. The toilet is near the CL entrance and shared with the fishermen. It seemed to be a very popular fishing venue with competitions on at the weekend and quite a few people around during the week, but still very quiet. The entrance isn't obvious if you are looking on Google Maps beforehand, as it mentions an electric gate that doesn't appear on Google maps (yet). As you come down Shelt Hill there is a village sign for Woodborough, and immediately past that a lane on the left with a footpath sign, which is the entrance you need.

Beautiful and well maintained

We have stayed on this lovely relaxing site a couple of times, it is peaceful and well maintained. Easy access onto the site via electric gates down a long drive so away from main road noise. The field is nice and flat with plenty of room. Lovely fishing amenities onsite and really nice just to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Lovely walks in the area and local pub within walking distance too. There is lots to do out and about nearby if you do want to venture off site. A true little gem of a site that we look forward to returning too.

Lovely stay

Just returned from a lovely relaxing break at Shelt Hill. Access to this site is via a drive and two automatic gates. The CL is situated near to the fishing lakes, and is is surrounded on all sides by fields and paddocks, making this lovely and peaceful. We were able to walk our dog from the site and there are plenty of walks in the area. There was plenty of room to manoeuvre and the pitches are flat, and I was told that the aim is to make all the pitches fully serviced in the near future. The site is well maintained and in a great location. There is open water which may not be suitable for small children but this is only to be expected from a fishery. If fishing is your thing then this would be an ideal site to visit. Local shops and pub are a short walk or drive away and there are many other places of interest to visit in the area. Can’t recomend enough for a new site.
