Beautiful basic site once you get there

Once pitched you are on the most beautiful peaceful site in the middle of the woods in a shady idyllic spot. The roads to get there are very narrow in places, whichever direction you travel to and from and it does seem an age before you get anywhere! The entrance drive is very rough and rocky and could do with being leveled out but once you are there it is worth it!

Tranquility

A very peaceful CL which is basically just a small field with a water supply. Easy access to small wood for walk and a short hike to Haytor Rocks for access to Dartmoor. Very welcoming and helpful owner. Only negative I can stage is the small.access lane and entrance. Follow the directions detailed by the owner for access. Would use this site again.

A very peaceful hideaway

One of the simplest of sites, a field with a tap and dustbins. Pretty flat, I didn't need ramps for levelling. Surrounded by mature woods on all sides, in the bottom of a valley, with access by typical Devon lanes - very narrow. Very quiet, a passing car is a rare event indeed. But it's only 10 minutes drive from the A38. No mobile phone reception. Owner is a lovely lady, Jan, who offered me a lift to the pub in Ilsington (it's uphill). The pub is a gem: charming, friendly, with excellent food and ales.
