Ease of arrival/welcome

Seriously over rated for those who want to get away from people.

We arrived and having notified them we had a twin axle caravan found we had been allocated the furthest away and smallest pitch on the site. Without motor movers it would have been impossible to site the van. The pitch is called ‘Isle of Sky View’ but unless the surrounding static caravans or hundreds of other caravans from adjacent sites are called ‘Isle of Sky’ the actual Isle of Sky could only just be made out between the hundreds of surrounding white plastic. There were 7 other units on the site, (8 including ours). I’m afraid this is a perfect example of how humans completely spoil what is a beautiful area. To enjoy the stunning scenery and surrounding ruggedness you have to drive well away from this site I’m afraid. Because of all the adjacent other sites, (carefully not shown in the pictures on here), if you like commercial sites set amongst thousands of other caravans and motorhomes and are happy to get pot luck with a pitch at the end and by the beach, this site is for you but if, like us, you use CLs to escape the crowds, be remote and on your own and enjoy the natural environment - give this site a VERY wide berth.

We've been coming to this site for nigh on 8+ years. There's a lovely static situated on the site and the only others I know are to the west on the distant peninsula, and I'm sure there's only a couple. Yes there is a site next to Small Isles and it's not hidden in the photos. You can clearly see the vans in the photos of the Small Isles pitches. There is no raft of white plastic (?) and thousands of vans to be seen. The view to Skye (to the right as you're looking out) is stunning and you can't miss it and the sunsets are fantastic. A suggestion is that you might want to Google map the area to see if the surroundings fit your requirements. This CL is our heaven away from home and we thank Barbara and William for their hospitality.
