Lovely Bank Holiday Weekend stay

We've just returned from a Bank Holiday weekend here and had a really lovely stay. The first thing to mention is that the entrance can be easy to miss when coming from Olney so take care! Whilst that entrance from the road is wide but potentially missable, the driveway through the farmyard and up the track is decidedly narrow but our 8ft wide twin axle caravan was OK! The track opens out as you climb the incline onto a wide-open space with far-reaching views over the countryside. Very pleasant indeed. The owner just lets you get on with it - he's very relaxed and just wants people to enjoy themselves, as long as they are not annoying other campers which is fair enough (although one person's fun can be another person's annoyance!). Our slight issue with this is that the field itself is so small there is nowhere appropriate for the kids to run around and let off steam. Just be mindful of this if, like us, you have kids that need to burn off energy. It must be bordering on the smallest allowed site bearing in mind allowances for distancing between vans and not blocking the entrances to the gates at either end of the field. I think this might also be partly why the owner doesn't allow groundsheets as if you wreck the grass it has no time to recover as there is little alternative as to where or how to pitch. It must be said that the grass was lovely and short whilst we stayed there with no cuttings left around either which was appreciated. There are EHU points and a water tap on each side of the site and the CDP is in an almost over - convenient place - it's in sight of all pitches. This site is close to various attractions including Emberton and Irchester Country Parks and Olney itself is a charming little town with lots of independent shops and free parking! Wellingborough is about 15 minutes away as a larger town with all your regular shops and amenities including a Morrisons that sells LPG so you can top up your Safefill cylinder there as we did. Overall we had a lovely stay and is a well-kept site with an open feel but be wary that it is very small.
