Awnings! An owners plea!

Hello prospective visitors! Please ignore the recent misprint amendment in the Caravan club magazine regarding use of awnings. We would love to welcome you here to our CL with your awnings during the Summer months from March to November! Porch awnings are allowed in Winter. Thank you!

great weekend

Arrived Friday afternoon, no one on site so pitched our van ourselves. Some vans followed us and were a bit confused as where to pitch. We enjoyed the site, flat and well maintained and wonderful views over the Wolds, great dog walks and very peaceful. The site owner came around on Sunday morning for a chat. We left our site fees in a honesty box in the hut situated on the site. We were treated to a fly pass of the Lancaster bomber and 2 Spitfires while we were there. Great site and we will return.

Lovely, but over crowded

A hidden gem. Lovely place really close to Lincoln with good facilities & access. However, there were 9 vans there all weekend. The owner said that another member turned up with 4 other vans unexpectedly, but there were 9 clearly marked out pitches & 12 marked EHU points, which suggests it is often over full. Also, there are no speed limit signs on site so one inconsiderate caravanner thought it was OK to zoom accross the site at 30mph +. Not great when he had 3 2 kids and a toddler out playing! For these reasons we marked it down on peace & tranquillity.  Nonetheless, a nice place and we would go back.

A hidden gem

This well maintained farm site is always a joy to visit anytime of the year. Always a warm welcome awaits if the owners are not out working on the farm. Lincoln is a lovely city to visit and should be something for everyone to discover. We have visited many times and intend to in the future.

A Site of Note

A very warm welcome received on arrival . Large well maintained site. Information in abundance. Excellent for walking and the Lincoln Show Ground. Bus from the end of the drive to Lincoln, much better than trying to pay and park. £10 night excellent value.

Peaceful haven

We were given a warm welcome by Mr Marris who left the choice of where to park up to us.  This is an extremely well kept area, peaceful, quiet and open views.  We saw a deer this morning before leaving, making our stay more memorable.  If you stay here then go to the Dambusters Inn at Scampton which is the pub the pilots used to drink in.  It is decorated with memoribila, really interesting and nostalgic.  Bar staff dressed in 40s clothing to add to the atmosphere.  Don't forget to read the visitors book. We will definitely be back to both the site and the Dambusters Inn.
