Perfect long weekend with panoramic countryside views

We’ve had a wonderful long weekend with Linda and David on their brand new site - in fact, we’ve already booked again for later in the summer. Excellent roads to the site from the A7, despite the peaceful, rural location: spacious with good visibility ahead. We arrived at the site and our pitch was noted on the board next to the lovely, old postbox (which has information leaflets about the area), and Linda popped along later in the afternoon to welcome us. There are 5 generously sized, fully serviced pitches on a gentle slope - expect to have to level a little bit. The pitches are all west facing with far-reaching countryside views with beautiful evening sunsets. The weather was quite unsettled while we there - which meant we got to see some amazing, changing, moody skies. They’ve planted trees between the pitches which will provide plenty of privacy when established, but the decking on each pitch provides privacy too. It’s a farm location, but we weren’t disturbed by any machinery at all. Very peaceful, just the sounds of the countryside. The private, heated toilet cabins behind each pitch were spotlessly clean and a real luxury. There was a shelf and coat hooks for bits and bobs and Linda and David had also printed out three local walks from the site you can choose from. There’s an outside pot wash and draining board - which we appreciated, especially after grilling veg and meat outside. Using our binoculars we spotted a tower in the distance, so headed over to nearby Langholm in search of ‘Malcolm’s Monument’. There are so many walks nearby, and next time we’ll be heading over to Kielder to explore there too. Thank you Linda and David - we’ll see you soon!
