On arrival we were met by the owner Katie, she directed us onto the CL field which was over the road from the farm, but still close to the toilet and shower blocks which were kept spotlessly clean. Katy is trying to establish a business at the farm that has a number of camping fields catering for tents, motorhomes and caravans. One of the fields is a dedicated CL site. There is a bit more going on than at a stand alone CL, but is was still quiet especially at night. There were no midgies while we were there, but if there had been its nothing to do with the campsite - its Scotland..... Locally there is easy ferry access to Bute and Great Cumbrae - both good locations for cycling as the ferry companies don't charge for bikes, just the passenger. Our pitch was level on hardstanding with EHU and water nearby, so was exactly what a CL should be. The shower and loo block was the additional benefit which justified the pitch fee. we would happily go back in the future and wish Katy all the best in her efforts to build a business as she works so hard make people welcome and provide good facilities.
