Lovely site, great hosts

We stayed for a week in July as I work local to the site and my wife, being a teaching assistant, was on holiday. The CL is a lovely little site and the hosts were very accomodating. There is a small amount of noise coming from the M25 nearby but it is barely noticable. Great walks available from the site and only a 5-10 drive from Lakeside. Will be going back next year to do the same.

Relative

Was down visiting relatives in Rainham for an anniversary. Site very handy, nice walk in wooded area, can go further but you would need code to gate at rear, which site owner will provide.. Hum of traffic from M25, but I live near a railway line so I'm used to a bit of noise. Very tranquil, peaceful site, (despite being near M25), site owners lovely and the pony in the paddock was sweet. Also there was a book shed, so I came away with one or two books. Entry is a bit tight but I got Betty (the Motorhome) to breath in, there are EHU and water, also an Elsan. All in all an enjoyable stop over. Would use again.

Good CL - would recommend

We stayed for 2 nights in June 2019 while attending a function at the local golf course (location of CL was great). Communication with owner was good and access narrow but not a problem. There are 5 grass pitches with EHU in the field at the back, and room for 2 hard standing gravel pitches near small paddock. Owner prefers you to use grass pitches when weather allows. There is access to a fresh water tap near the paddock, and access to a chemical toilet disposal near the access. Although there is a local bus stop, we used Uber to get to golf course and had no problem booking due to proximity to Romford / London. Would recommend and reuse again.

Cracking stop over to visit London

We stayed here for 3 nights and will definitely be back. There is a bus stop outside for access to Upminster where you can get the train or tube into London. Although you can hear the constant rumble from the M25 it did not really bother us as it was continuous so you kind of got used to it. There is a cracking pub on the outskirts of Upminster, The Jobbers Rest, which does good food and is only a six minutes drive away.

Very helpful owner and ideal location

My wife and I have used this site several times both as a stop off before going down to Dover on our way to France and also for visiting relations and friends around the location. We have found the owners most helpful each time and the site itself considering it's close proximity to the M25 is remarkably quiet apart from what has been mentioned on other reviews as a slight traffic hum. The site is secure with a coded lock on the gate. Romford and Brentwood are just a few miles away with their respective shopping areas. We have had no problems there each time we have stayed there and hope to stay there again later this year.

A site owner who goes the extra mile!

Very happy with site. Owners very welcoming and supportive. During period of very heavy rain, site owner assisted us by towing our van to higher ground and even lent us a pair of wellies!!! Would definitely recommend the site

Definitely recommended

No hesitation recommending this site.  Very convenient for M25.  There was little wind the day I stayed and there was only a quiet hum from the motorway.  Guess it can be worse if the wind is in wrong direction, but it's not right next door.  It certainly wouldn't put me off returning! Occasional local bus service during day from outside site but frequent (and early morning and late night) service to Upminster, Romford, Lakeside after 1 mile walk up main road or via footpath at back of site (I gather it's fine unless there's been a lot of rain). Level well-grassed and sheltered site with plenty of space.  Secure coded entry an added plus. Entrance drive quite a tight fit but only likely to trouble very wide vehicles or very nervous drivers. Warm and friendly welcome from owners both on phone when booking and at site. Thanks :-)

Good site, very convenient

Yes, it is a narrow entrance but we managed fine. Friendly welcome.  Facilities fine.  Surprisingly pleasant walks straight from site, in Thames Chase Community Forest.  Site is convenient for getting into London - big car park at Upminster station, about 3 miles away, easy route.  The noise from the M25 is a consistent hum but you get used to it and did not disturb us unduly. Will use this site again.

Visit

It was quite easy to miss the entrance to this site, as there was no visible indication of the house name or number only the small caravan club sign, and we found the entrance to be a very tight squeeze with our 23 foot van. Once through the locked gate, on the drive approach to the camping field there is a very tight dog leg, which makes it extremely precarious if you have a long caravan. The site itself was very pleasant but the noise from the M25 really was overbearing especially during the night. However, this site was in an ideal location for our visits to London and surrounding area. Never saw much of the owners after they collected the fee. We feel that they could have been present when we arrived to guide us to the correct pitch. Overall the site was very pleasant with ample space.
