Fab little site

This was a really lovely little site, well kept and easy to find. The owners brought me a cup of tea on arrival with treats for my dogs. Which was a lovely surprise. I had the site to myself so could choose where to park.

Great stop over for us

We stayed at Spitgrove in July for a stopover while travelling south on M5 ..at just 10mins from motorway..this worked well for us. Loos and shower clean ..so would recommend..check out other reviews if wanting to stay in the area ..as we were only passing through and would return .

Convenient for M5

Visited in June 16. Convenient for those travelling down the M5 as an overnight journey break but quite scruffy. There appear to be 5 permanently sited vans -project workers? - along one edge of the field and visitors are left to find somewhere in the field. The site is quite noisy from the M5, only a couple of fields away, but OK for an overnight stop.

I Stayed For 4 Weeks

I stayed at Spitgrove farm for 4 weeks during August 2013 whilst working in the area, Phiiip was kind enough to look after my small motor bike at weekends for me, which saved me lugging it back and forth to Cornwall. The site was very convenient as North Petherton was only about a half mile away, there was a small local shop and a Tesco Express, a fish and chip shop a keebab and piza place as well as a chinese and indian resturaunt takeaway. Although I was forbidden by the wife I did have chips twice and Chinese once. There are also 2 cashpoints in the village. Going the other way into the village of North Newton which was about a mile, there was a nice village pub called the Harvest Moon, and a short distance from this was the lovely Bridgewater to Taunton canal, I think one of the prettiest that I have been on, 8 miles to Taunton and 5 miles to Bridgewater the otherway. with a couple of visiter centers along the way to Taunton. I actually brought the missus here when I had a short break and we cycled right into the docks in the centre of Brdigewater. A great ride ! Also not that far away towards Othery is a hill with a church ruin on top called Barrow Mump like a small Glastonbury Tor, which is worth a visit on a clear day. The M5 is right close by but it never gave me a sleepless night an it is very easy to get on or off at j24 or J25.

Superb M5 Stopover

Ideal location for anybody heading southbound or northbound for that matters on the M5 approx. 5-10mins off the motorway and easy access to site - electrics/water/elsan all within easy access and lovely views to start our holiday off - owners very accommodating - didn't really notice any noise

On route to Cornwall

We've stayed at this CL on route to Cornwall twice. Its conveniently located for the M5 and easy to find along fair sized roads. No problems with approaching site. Good communications with the owner via email. You are left to your own devices on site and seem to be able to pick your own spot. Good sized field and easy to get your own space. There is motorway traffic noise, but as others have said it didn't keep us awake and soon fades onto the background. Definitely recommend for overnight stop.

Spitgrove Farm

Stoped here recently & found the cl site easily. The owners were pleasent & helpfull. The fresh water & chemical disposal area is well thought out & easily accessible. The cl is centrally located for exploring Exmoor,Glastonbury etc. There is a good canal walk nearby (also part of the national cycle way).We had a lovely meal at the Harvest Moon Pub about half a mile away.Overall we had an enjoyable holiday at Spitgrove Farm.We did experience traffic noise from the M5 but it didnt keep us awake at night.
