Great Site

We have just had a second 2 week stay on this site (July 2017). As normal, Elaine is her usual bubbly self and met us on arrival to show us where to pitch. There is EHU and water supplied to each pitch with the whole site is just short of being super pitch status. Maybe drainage to each pitch an Wifi will come in the future. This is a great site for dogs with a lovely walk around the ponds in the grounds. If you like fishing then there are two ponds to choose from. There is some traffic noise, but that is intermittent and didn't keep us awake. The entrace is easy to access, even with a large twin axle van. This site will certainly go on our favourites list for future visits.

Short stop

Must say that this small CL is one of the best and must agree with the comment by a poster on here that Elaine is one of the most welcoming hosts ever. We did a fantastic walk from the site all along the coast and back covering about 7 miles. You cross the road outside the site gates onto a bridal path turn left towards the boat club down towards the beach but stay of the sands and walk along the cliffs. We called in for a nice coffee at one of the campsites which we left our walking sticks but all was ok when we made it back as the kind lady found them and kept them safe for us. We did plan on catching the bus back from Skipsea but due to finding the sticks missing had to turn round just out side the town and walk back. Would use this site again if in the area.

One of Hornsea's Crown Jewel

I have regularly stayed at this site and I find it truly amazing. Elaine is one of the most welcoming hosts ever. The site is excellent and well maintained. The facilities are cleaned every day and the site is just so restful considering a main road is just over the hedge. I have been coming here for 3 years and I have always had a warm welcome no matter what time of arrival. Picnic tables are placed near if you require one and the spaces are so open plan. You never feel overlooked by others and I am a small campervan. I also travel alone and I have never felt afraid or uncomfortable even if I am the only one on site, which doesn't happen very often. The site is safe and sound in Elaine and Freds capable hands. The dog walking area is tranquil and its lovely to see the sun come up over the fishing ponds and watch the wildlife. Elaine will often leave me the Hornsea free paper and let me know the eggs are available. What more could you ask for. There are no set times and everything is at a relaxed pace of life. AAAAAhhhhh bliss. I would truly recommend this site without hesitation. I sleep like a baby and feel that Elaine and her friendly well cared for approach is a real pleasure in this day and age of the busy lives we lead.

Amazing weeks holiday

We stayed here at the end of May and we fell in love with the site and Hornsea. The site is immaculate, has easy access, lovely dog walk, and have lovely owners who are helpful without being intrusive. Within walking distance of the beach and town, this site is perfectly placed for a wonderful break. We can't wait to return, our Springer Spaniel is still recovering from all of the lovely walks.... best CL we have stayed on

Well tendered Site but..........

We stayed on a Saturday evening at the end of a holiday. The site was easy to find off the road. We had a lovely welcome from the owners and the site was well maintained clean and tidy. We have to disagree with the road noise not causing disturbance. For us we were woken many times through the night all night long by the road noise it was non stop. this may be because it was a saturday night? We did not park near the edge but in the centre hoping it would help. It must be difficult for the owners to try and resolve this we are sure they are trying as mentioned. I feel sad to write a downside to this site as everything was lovely but if you cannot sleep when you are travelling it's not a great feeling.

A Very Warm Welcome

Just got back from a three night stay at this beautifully kept CL site, we received a very warm welcome from Elaine on arrival, was told that there were no other guests expected so had the whole site to ourselves which was great. The site is very tidy and well kept, the pitches are level with EHU and water tap on each pitch, there is a very clean shower and toilet block. The two ponds are very well kept, the coarse pond fished very well for the time of year I will try the carp pond when I go back in the spring. Hornsea is only a two minute drive from the site where you can browse local shop's and enjoy some nice fish n chip's. There is ample parking near the beach where you can walk for hours without bumping into too many people. We will defiantly going back soon.

Half term week

The only downside to the cl is the road at the back that is very fast flowing and can be busy at times.  Having said this we were backing on to the road and sleep was not disturbed.  Get one of the front pitches and it wouldn't be a problem at all.  The owners of the site have planted a second row of hedging which will improve the road noise once established. The welcome and hosting skills shown by Elaine are the the best we have experienced on a CL.  We were made to feel extremely welcome and as though nothing would be too much trouble.   The facilities are clean and tidy with shallow steps and a handrail to allow easy access.  Grass where possible has been cut prior to your arrival.  Dogs are welcome to walk with their owners around the fishing ponds and there are lots of local dog walks as well.  Children are also welcome which is a bonus. We may not have a chance to visit again before we move out of the area but this site would most certainly be on our return list. Thank you Elaine for a lovely stay.

Warm Helpful Welcome

Stayed here for 5 days, in April. Welcome very warm and helpful from Mrs Davison. Surroundings are pleasant with three lakes, for coarse fishing. A modern toilet with electric shower in corner of site. Beach is about a mile away across fields and road to Boat yard. Not the most accessible beach, but this is true of the whole 20 mile area with its eroding cliffs. Access to beach is fine at all the major towns.. To sum up a very pleasant site with amenities, is next to a B road with little late evening or overnight traffic.

second visit

Visited this site 3 years ago when it first opened and the changes that have been made since then are excellent. The pitches have been separated to give plenty of room for the van, car and an awning with water to each pitch. The owners are very nice and helpful. Will be going back ASAP. Nice fishing ponds for anyone who likes to fish.
