Lovely CL

Stables cottage was a great little find, owners are welcoming. The site is tidy and well kept. It is a non electric site but has water, elsan point and recycling. There is a bit of toad noise because your only 2.5 miles away from the M6, but nothing disturbing. You are at the end of a village which has a couple of take aways, pubs, a chemist a co-op and also a petrol station. Phone signal, t.v and Internet are all good. Lovely site we would return too. We stayed here in June 2023 and paid 10 per night 2 adults and a dog.......Hitchupandtow

Little Gem

Great little CL if you want to get away to somewhere peaceful. Easy access, level pitches, lovely views and walks nearby. Booked at the last minute for a bank holiday and owner very helpful when we had to delay by a day.

Fantastic little site

Easy to find, met on arrival by owner who was very helpful. Site is grassed with no EHU and some mature trees planted amongst pitches. Didn't need levelling blocks. Site well kept with nice view of the hills. All black waste, grey water taps etc all easily accessible. Great riverside walks from site with our dogs, we didn't need to drive anywhere. Had great view of hot air balloon taking off several days in a row at sunrise/sunset. Co-op a short walk and pharmacy next door to it. Excellent value for money at £10 per night, plan to return.

Lovely site

We were travelling back from Scotland and this was roughly half way home to the midlands. We only wanted the one night stop over on the way home which wasn't a problem. Phoned and booked. We left Helensbough heading for the Erskine bridge this is the first time I have been to Scotland and now know the A82 is the only way north and South. Half an hour into the journey a massive five car pile up on the A82 closing both sides of the A82 with fire engines and police in attendance. So we turned around headed back to Helensbough and along the coast road. Nose to tail for hours lol by the time we got to a service break the sat nav was saying an 8.30pm arrival time. ( We actually arrived at 9.00pm.) Phoned them to let them know we were running late and they couldn't have been more helpful. We got a little lost as it was dark and the sat nav took us down a cul-de-sac just before the farm entrance this must be a regular thing as a lovely lady came out asking us if we were lost and gave us exact directions to the farm. What a shame we couldn't have stopped longer and enjoyed the area. As others have said 2 miles from the M6 and you couldn't hear a thing. In the morning all I heard was the cows and wish I could have the seen the chicken ( as I have my own ) will definitely stay here again on a return trip to Scotland. £8 a night no ehu excellent value for money.

Perfect, peaceful pause in the long journey to Scotland

Site is beautifully presented, easy to access and rests in the tranquil splendour of the Lune valley. Dog "exercising" is admirably served by the River Lune Millennium Park path/cycle way which has access to the River Lune further on for doggy swims. This site is close to the M6 for trips North/South, but doesn't feel it as hills block the M6 from sight and sound. Caton is close by for local pubs and amenities. All in all a gem of a spot, perfect for those who prefer peace and quiet..

Great site at very low rate

Nice flat mown grass just a few metres from the Lancaster Millenium path. Cycles and walkers can use the paved ex railway line to get to places as far away as Lancaster, or, using also the Lancaster canal, to Hest Bank, Bolton le Sands, and Carnforth. All on the flat. 10 minute walk or 3 minute cycle to local Co-op, where there is also a cash machine. Calor gas at nearby garage. Warm welcome from Mr Whitfield's family, and a good conversation later with Mr Whitfield himself later. Plenty of room, very quiet and picturesque. No electricity but we lasted 4 days without it, no problem. No time to watch TV! This site is worth a lot more than the price currently charged
