A lovely weekend away

A very good choice for our first CL site. We couldn't have asked for more. It was just like being invited to camp in someones beautiful garden. There are 5 caravan pitches around a green. I couldn't believe how much space we all had. The views were lovely with fields of sheep all around. It was lovely to see the new lambs. There were 3 or 4 chickens who live on the site and a pheasant came to visit. The owners were very helpful - thank you to them for making us welcome. We had our dog with us and he was welcome as long as he was kept on a lead. The showers and toilets are basic but clean and were never busy (there is a long stay caravan area and camping field). The village is about 1 mile away, and there is a short cut via a footpath through a sheep field. The waterfall trail in Ingleton is a must (but be prepared for the steps, all 1000 of them). Well worth the walk. There are several pubs in the village. We can recommend the food at the Wheatsheaf (dog friendly). The whole area is beautiful and well worth a visit. The only slight negative is that the main road between the caravan site and the village can be very busy and there is a slight hum of traffic noise on the site. This did not spoil our enjoyment and would definitely not stop us from going back.

Lovely break

We have just returned from this lovely site,  After a nice warm welcome from badger and scruff the dogs we parked our van in one of five spacious pitches all with fantastic views of the yorkshire dales. The swimming pool was great especially when there was only two of us in there. This was great value for the money. We had a fantastic few days and will certainly be returning in the near future.

Beautifully done

This is a CL to beat any other, where can you have superb views, superb facilities, and an indoor pool and gym. The owners Steve and Wendy are  extremely helpful , nothing is a problem. This site is well placed for walking in the dales, caving, or just 30 mins from the Lake District. We will certainly return as soon as we can find an available weekend

Relaxing time

Just done 5 days here, a nice little spot with much to see and visit in the area although outside Ingleton everywhere else is by car. Good walks for the dog at Ingleton itself and quite lanes nearby for late night early morning walks. Didn't try the pool facilities as we were always off about to Bentham, Settle and Ingleborough. Equally nice place to just relax and chill with small lawned area with picnic tables.

Very good cl site if you are an early riser.

This is a very good site with all aminities, good pitches and well kept. Easy walk in to Ingleton where all pubs serve food and allow dogs in. The only bad point is being woke at 4 o'clock by two cockerels, will use this site again but will take earplugs, overall a good stay.

Great site shame about the cockerel !

This is one of the nicest sites we have visited apart from just a few of things. If you don't mind being woken up at 4am every morning by the cockerel .For those thinking that it is a farm after all are very wrong, this is a CL next to a commercial site. The owner of the site needs to move the cockerel & chickens off the CL site.As to the swimming pool etc i think the cost of £5.00 per person per hour & yes it is for an hour as stated in the pool entrance is a little on the steep side & especially when the pool was so cold ,so take a wetsuit, with you. On a lighter note the site is very well kept & the owners are very helpful, would visit again but only when the cockerel is on its holdays.

Converted

Our first time on a CL and now we're converted. Where do I start? The owners, really friendly and chatty; the location, in the heart of North Yorks where you are simply spoilt for walks or bike rides and its only a 10 minute walk into the lovely village of Ingleton with an excellent selection of pubs, cafes and a chippy. You get the facilities of the village but the peace and quiet o the countryside. It's a lovely, quiet and clean site too. I have to disagree with the reviewer who commented on the gym and pool. We used it and it was smashing. A decent sized pool with sauna and hot tub plus gym equipment. It was only built in 2012 and is very smart. Contrary to what it says in the notes use of the gym and pool is £5 per session NOT £5 per hour. Despite villagers using the gym and pool it never felt busy or crowded

May Bank Holiday

Had a great time on this site. 2 adults and 2 teenage boys (14 years of age).the leisure centre is a must at £5 per adult and £3 per child. It has a jacuzzi, good sized pool overlooking fantastic scenery with a view if ingleborough, a sauna and a small gym. Lovely scenery. Great location for ingleton about a 10 minute walk. We visited the Masons Arms (5 minute walk) for an evening meal. The food was good but after trying to be healthy all week the menu was limited to traditional pub food. Good value for money though and after walking all day is probably just what you need. The waterfall trail is a nice day out and we didn't mind paying the fee of £14 per family. Will definitely visit this site again. Lots of chickens running free, so ask for the free range eggs for sale although everybody has cottoned onto this and they're not always available. Great location for many attractions and walks. Dales outdoor shop at the end of the road too for rainy days to go browsing. Just off A65

Fantastic Stay March 2013

We are 2 adults very new to caravaning so still very much finding our feet. When we arrived at Stackstead Farm ( which was very easy to find ) we were helped by the friendly owner to choose our pitch and as we are novices to reversing the caravan he even helped us to get in the correct position. Great location for exploring, the Ingleton Waterfall trail is a must and the tour around the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes if you are into local cheeses. We paid to use the leisure centre and for most of the time we had it to ourselves and was very relaxing in the Sauna and Jacuzzi. The real credit to the owner of this CL is his willingness to help dig us out on the day of our departure, it had snowed the previous night and the strong winds caused the snow to drift so although we managed it out of the site to the lane at the top we couldn't manage any further until he kindly helped us dig, a huge thank you for that. We will return later this year and hopefully to some warmer weather. Kind Regards Don and Lorraine McGill
