Nice Little CL

This is a lovely little CL in a great spot. I think we first stayed here in about 2004 and this was our 4th or 5th visit. The site owners are delightful and made us very welcome. Of course everyone has different opinions, but this CL is just the job for us. Nothing more than a few cows, trees and green fields to look at – perfect! It’s a very well maintained site, with clean bins, convenient water and waste. Fairly level, few slopes, nothing major. The site access didn’t present any problems. For those interested, the TV signal is good and we had no problem accessing the internet via 4G. Obviously no mains hook-up which we consider a bonus, and with solar panels, electric is free anyway! We can only get away as a family when our children are off school, so being a bank holiday, the site was full when we arrived. However, it’s a decent size site so plenty of room for 5 vans, but worth booking early. Never quite understood why so many retired folk go caravanning during the bank hols when the sites are heaving? Surely its easier and quieter when everyone else is stuck at work and school? Some nice local walks. The river runs alongside the site. Our children enjoyed playing in the river and even managed a little swim in the deeper bits. You can follow the footpath along the riverbank to town. It only takes about 15-20 minutes from site. The town has a couple of handy convenience shops and there are some nice traditional pubs serving food - not fancy gastro pubs, just proper village pubs (our dog was made very welcome) Perfect for a few drinks then ‘walkies’ back to the caravan! If I had to find a slight negative, there is a train line above the site. Not particularly noisy but a slight distraction. All in all a great little CL.
