Above And Beyond
This was a unexpected chance booking. On our way to Scotland and decided to leave an extra day to the journey. Looked for a site near to the M6 around Wigan. Found Stoney Leach Nursery CL. They unexpectedly had a cancellation so booked for the night.
In my haste to copy the directions to the site stupidly screen shot the wrong CL site, then after asking directions, given three different routes all not suitable with caravans.
Phoned the site in desperation. The owner could not have helped more dispute the poor phone coverage and multiple calls, established we were miles away. He drove to where we were and led us tot he site and could not have done more to make us feel welcome and hide my shame.
Moral- Check details given by site owners before leaving and follow them. A lesson learned and endorsed by my wife when she has calmed down enough to speak to me again. The site is small, quiet and beautifuly cared for. If you are lucky enough to find a space well worth a visit.
