Ease of arrival/welcome

Bit neglected but several pluses

Site is a small field off the overflow car park. There are 5 "so called" hard standings which were very overgrown with grass and surrounding grass was rather long. EHU to each pitch and water, chemical and general waste available by field gate. This area was sanitized whilst we were there and the waste bins emptied. Other than that no one seemed to be in charge. After pitching we walked down to the NT reception to notify them of our arrival. The chap did not check our booking confirmation or ask how long we were staying! The toilets are next to the NT reception and open 8am - 5.15pm so a short walk away. On the plus site it was very quiet, entry to the gardens is free and you can wander around at any time I believe. The Spread Eagle pub is a short stroll away and very good. Do think CAMC should make them renovate and maintain the pitches properly.

To many sites are jumping on the price hike merry go round!!

Once these recent converts to caravan/motor home holidays have returned to Spain etc

site owners may wish they had resisted the urge to rush up prices for what will surely be a one or two season wonder.

We are not speaking only of caravan sites, the whole tourist industry has raised their prices phenomenally even down to some car parks.

I sincerely hope real caravaners stay with those who value their returning customers and and hold prices to a reasonable level, no one should object to a reasonable increase year on year I most certainly don't.

Let those with more money than sense use the over priced sites, and good luck to them. especially if it as often does turn out to be a wet time.
