Ease of arrival/welcome

Perfect for a short stay

The main draw of this site is it's close proximity to the Stourhead estate and gardens. However there aren't any amazing views from your caravan, just the overflow car park which is a shame because the other side of the hedge has a stunning view for miles. Check in was efficient and friendly prior to pitching (they allocate a pitch number on arrival) Pitches are perfect for a motor home but for a caravan with awning slightly tight, when you are asked not to park on the grass, (hardstanding pitches also could do with weeding). It is lovely to be able to walk around the gardens after the public have gone home and if you are a dog owner you can access them after 4pm but are able to use the wider estate until then, The Wifi is available in the restaurant area a five minute walk from the site and this is the same for the toilets which are open from 9 until 6. Our mobile provider is O2 and signal was very hit and miss, could be a problem if you need assistance after the estate has closed, for the night because you are secluded. We had a drink in the Spread Eagle pub which was pleasant but we found expensive for £8.75 for a pint of bitter shandy and a medium white wine.
