What a wonderful spot!

If you are a Capability Brown fan or not, having the whole estate to yourself after the rest of the world has gone home makes this a special place. Wonderful lakeside and Estate walks, with dogs at certain times of the year allowed around the lake - see NT website. Much quieter site now it has been moved away from the back of the kitchens to the other side of the overflow carpark. The Spread Eagle pub does excellent food, lunchtime and evenings - take a torch for the walk back up the zigzag hill in the dark. There are often art exhibitions in the gallery near the pub. NT restaurant also very good. Didn't try the TV access, but the wi fi signal on mobiles was intermittent on the site itself. Brilliant spot, shame more NT sites don't do the same!!
