Ease of arrival/welcome

It's smaller than it looks

A very tortuous entrance, with husband saying "I don't know if I can get in here", we arrived to find that one of the 2 hard standing pitches was already taken by a large motor home. He had taken the easiest pitch. The other one, which we chose because the grass looked a bit difficult to manoeuvre into with our caravan, took a great deal of adjusting to get into. As it was on a bit of a downward slope with a couple of badly placed trees, we struggled to get settled. In the end as we were only staying one night we opted to accept the left to right tilt of the van because to try to get the wedges under the wheel would have been an effort too far. We have a 7mtr length van, not one of the longest, but not a little one either, without a motor mover. It was a good job there were only the two outfits in the site that night. My advice with this site is, if you have a long caravan, without a mover, go somewhere else. It's fine if you have a motorhome and are happy on grass, which we generally prefer by the way. It is a very small site. The photos make it look much larger than it actually is. All the caravans would be on top of each other with 5 in residence. On the way out next morning, we had to stop at a main road junction, on an upward slope, immediately out of the site, to turn right to go back to the M6. The road surface at that point was a bit loose and as we pulled out into the main road, the smell of burning rubber from our front wheeled Vectra was very worrying. On the plus side, this CL had all the usual services you would expect from a basic CL and was very handy for a 1 night stop off the M6. I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.
