Not what we expected!

We booked this site to enable us to visit my husband’s aging parents in Mablethorpe on first weekend in December. Our preferred site isn’t all year round. I chose this site as it has hard standing and the weather had been very wet. Arriving in the dark After a long drive we were horrified to find the aggregate used for hard standing was like soot! The black stuff walked into the van and made the 3 night stay a nightmare as we also have a dog! It was horrible! Luckily we spent most of the time with our relatives as the peace was ruined by a constant very loud rumbling and stench from the endless stream of tractors with trailers of slurry! We live in a very rural area and this was not peaceful. We won’t be going back!

Mid week in February !

We spent 3 nights here mid-week in February to try out our newly acquired caravan. Access to the site is easy and the site itself is lovely and quiet. The owners Mr and Mrs Harvey are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return later this year in the warmer weather.

At first glance

At first glance, we thought this site was a bit scruffy. Mainly due to weeds in the hard standing, and what could be a lovely centre flower bed to be overgrown with weeds. That's the bad side over with. On the good side. friendly owners, not overpowering or absent in any way. A great place for the dog. our well behaved westie spent a lot of time off lead especially on the beautiful walks around the lakes. Shower and toilets are in a green tin building, inside is spacious and spotless. great powerful shower with loads of hot water. Used also by fishermen so gents has more toilets . never a problem. We went for 4 nights as we had to be home for a couple of appointments. we were enjoying our stay so much we left the caravan there came home for 3 nights and went back again for another 6 nights. would recommend this CL x

Quiet and peaceful CL site

We have just returned from Strubby Grange and have had a nice relaxing weekend. There is a lot of improvements going on at the moment which can only enhance the site. There are a few ponds available at a very reasonable cost to have a nice relaxing day fishing. There is a really good dog walk from the site. The site is near the coast for beach lovers. There is a nice pub about 3 miles drive which is nice for a lovely meal. The owners made you feel very welcome. We will definitely return.

OK CL

The main plus side for this CL would be its ease for access to Mablethorpe and surrounding areas. On our arrival on Friday afternoon we found the drinking water tap did not work and when we left on Sunday afternoon this was still the case. The site itself is set within fishing lakes and if that's what you want it for its ideal, there is very little other views to be seen and it would appear there has been a new lake recently dug out and to that all that can be seen is earth. The hardstanding was ideal as we visited during February half term and the grass would have been too wet to pitch on. Was not too keen on the knock on the door Saturday morning whilst cooking breakfast for payment, we have been using CL's for the last two years and have never had this before, maybe been spoilt.

Our favourite CL in the Mablethorpe area so far

This is a nice open site, easy for access. Mr Harvey was very welcoming and was keen to make sure we had all we needed, despite obviously being very busy with the farm. We tried to pay him but he waived the cash aside saying that Mrs Harvey would see us later about paying. Can't be fairer than that. This is a 'get away from it all' gem of a place and as per the title this is our favourite CL for Mablethorpe so far, and we have tried most in the area. Only down was the dog mess left by the farm dogs on the site -hopefully this was an isolated accident. Will definitely visit again, though.

Peaceful Site

Great 3 night stay, handy for the coast and not far to Alford & Louth for shopping & tourist attractions. Friendly couple run the site & gave us advice what to do & where to go for some pub grub. Loos & shower facilities are in "portacabin" and are clean. Will visit again.
