Disappointment

This CL is in a good location, tucked away with plenty of space and open views. Whilst it is close to the railway and apart from the trains, it is quiet and peaceful. Although basic, with some TLC it would be a good CL. On our visit, though, the grass was not cut and it felt unkempt and unloved. A feeling only reinforced by the lack of welcome or effort to be 'hosts' by the owners. their preoccupation seems to be with the horse and glamping businesses rather than the CL. Additionally, we had constantly recurring problems with the electrical supply and, as agreed by the other guests, the installation to the site does not seem fit for purpose. Guests having revisited from earlier in the year had problems then, too, and the promised rectifications had not materialised.

On the whole good

Large CL overlooking fields of horses. Very pleasant CL. Slightly let down by the layout of the CL as only the area by the fence gets the evening sun so we ended up with another caravan squeezing between us and another caravan whilst the rest of the field was empty. Not a major problem as we were only there for a few days, but It might be worth relocating the bins to near the waste disposal point so another caravan can pitch further along the fence. The railway is very close and is the mainline between Southampton and Bournemouth so fairly busy. At first we found the trains quite intrusive, but soon got used to them. On the whole a lovely CL which will appeal to a lot of people.

First night after lockdown

My two sisters & I met here for our first camping trip when the restrictions were lifted. We stayed just one night as we are all quite local. It is a lovely peaceful site with plenty of horses to see. The field slopes quite steeply in places so chocks are a must if you want to be level.

Peaceful location with horses to enjoy looking at!

We only stayed the one night but the owner was welcoming, the view was perfect, fields of horses and rolling countryside beyond. We would definitely go back.

The wifes in heaven

One of the best CL's we have been to for a long time ,my wife has owned and been around horses all her life so was in heaven here and the dog had nice long walks , the trains are very regular but after the first day you don't notice them , nice and easy to get to the forest and shops and fish & chips which is our treat when on holiday , will definitely be back

Lovely back to basics CL. Escape it all here...

Nice back to basics CL owned by a lovely couple and their young daughter, very helpful, friendly and welcoming of young and old alike. Large field with six EHU's (10A), single water point, waste water and recycling. We've had some lovely holidays here. Plenty of things to do close by, nice quiet country lanes to walk or cycle, short car journey to the local train station to get to Bournemouth for the day, even get to see the campsite from the train on the way. Train noise never bothered us, not excessive. Local shops well stocked and the New Forest on your doorstep. Our young children love the horses and get to see them every morning being walked to the fields. Lovely views and silent (in-between the trains!) Sloping so needs levelers.

Stud Farm CL

We stayed here for 3 nights over the early May bank holiday weekend. Large field but sloping..definitely need levelling blocks. Friendly reception from owner..£12 a night with EHU. Lovely views over the countryside, and horses in the fields. Only one other outfit there  during our stay. Generally peaceful..nearby railway line and regular trains through the day but we didn't find this noise at all intrusive, so don't feel people should be put off staying here because of this. Man on 'ablutions duty' found the chemical disposal point to be good...easily accessible, low and good tap pressure! Recycling also available. An enjoyable stay and would use again.

A Hidden Treasure

This is the first CL site that we have stayed on, we usually just use Caravan Club sites on the whole having had some bad experiences from non CC sites. We picked this site because it was near the location of a wedding we were attending on the Saturday, but decided to make a long weekend of it staying 3 nights. On arrival we were given a very warm welcome by Amanda and shown the two pitches we could choose from (we have a twin axle). The site was very clean, however you will need to take blocks with you because there is a slight slope to the field.  The view from the caravan was beautiful and it was nice not to have hedges in the way obstructing it.  Some people have mentioned the noise of the trains, but living near a airbase it wasn't a problem for us and we quite liked seeing them. This is a wonderful site and we will be returning again soon!

A wonderful Easter

This is a very attractive location and has an easy access. The site has a slight slope but that is no problem .There is an equestrian yard on site with some fine horses to look at . Our grandsons had a great time with the other children on site which made the whole stay very enjoyable . We will definitely visit this CL again when in the area . The owners owners Nick and Amanda were very friendly and made us very welcome.

Lovely area

We enjoyed our stay at this site. Very peaceful. Interesting to watch the horses going past every morning and evening, right outside the caravan. Our dog was also very interested! Trains are not a problem - they run at regular intervals but you don't really notice it after a day or so. Owners were friendly but did not bother us at all. Good place from which to explore the New Forest. On the downside, I think that the grass should have been cut a bit shorter.
